Based in London and South Wales, Isabel is a professional harpist with over 10 years experience playing at events. Isabel is in high demand as a performer for weddings, functions and orchestral concerts. She regularly plays at prestigious venues across London for many high profile clients and companies, and has played for several members of the Royal Family and many other VIPs. Isabel plays a wide range of repertoire to suit all occasions, including pop, classical, jazz and Bollywood. She is happy to learn new requests and can tailor music choices and playlists to suit each client. In July 2018, Isabel graduated with a Master of Arts degree from the Royal Academy of Music, having studied with Charlotte Seale, Karen Vaughan and Skaila Kanga. Isabel is grateful to have received scholarships from the RAM, the Craxton Memorial Trust, Mario Lanza Educational Foundation, Mansel Thomas Trust and the Milford Haven Port Authority Scholarship. Isabel completed her undergraduate degree from the Royal College of Music in July 2016, where she studied with orchestral specialist Rachel Masters and renowned Welsh harpist, Ieuan Jones. Prior to this, Isabel studied at Chetham’s School of Music, Manchester from 2009 - 2011 and on the junior department at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama from 2008 - 2009. Isabel has performed in several top London concert venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Cadogan Hall, Wigmore Hall and St John’s Smith Square. She has played under notable conductors including Bernard Haitink, Edward Gardner, Vladimir Jurowski, Juraj Valčuha, Semyon Bychkov and Peter Stark. Isabel regularly plays with top amateur orchestras in London and surrounding counties and has performed on BBC Radio 3, BBC Manchester, S4C’s 'Noson Lawen' programme, Channel 4's 'Made in Chelsea', and has recorded for SOMM Recordings and Noiiz sampler instruments. Alongside her performance schedule, Isabel has several private harp and piano students and teaches both at Rupert House School, Henley on Thames. She is passionate about bringing classical music into the wider society and often leads school workshops in West London. Isabel is one half of the Solva Duo, a prize winning dynamic flute and harp ensemble based in London and South Wales. Catherine Hare (flute) and Isabel Harries (harp) became firm friends whilst students at Chetham’s School of Music and later formed the Solva Duo when they both continued their studies at the Royal College of Music. Highlighted performances include recitals at St Davids Cathedral Festival, The Victoria & Albert Museum, Proms on the Roof at Kensington Gardens, Chelsea Flower Show, the summer exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts and in the Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall.
