About Imogen Emmett

"Imogen played before and during my wedding ceremony and wow - what a dream!" London-based harpist playing beautifully refined music
Harpist
London

Imogen is a professional harpist based in Greenwich, known for her diverse career in harp performance. She holds a Masters degree with Distinction from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where she studied under the guidance of acclaimed harpist Gabriella Dall’Olio. Imogen also completed her undergraduate degree at Oxford University. Throughout her career, Imogen has played at prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, and the Southbank Centre. She had the privilege of performing at the triennial World Harp Congress in Cardiff in 2022. Beyond live performances, she performed on the professionally released album "John Marson: A Day in the Life of…" under the label Da Vinci Classics. Imogen booked her first event as a solo harpist at just 15 years old. Since then, she has played for a variety of events including wedding ceremonies, receptions, and corporate events. She has been booked by Waterstones and the entertainment production company Ministry of Fun. She curates bespoke setlists for all the events she performs at. Musically, Imogen is inspired by a wide variety of artists. Trained as a classical musician, she enjoys performing music by the likes of Debussy, Dvorak, Schumann, and Rachmaninov. However, she also loves more contemporary artists, even writing her Masters dissertation on Taylor Swift. Her favourite artists include Aurora, Lord Huron, Marina, Mitski, Raye, and of course Taylor Swift. Imogen often creates her own arrangements of pop songs to adapt them for the harp. Recently Imogen returned to performing with her second instrument: singing. On request, Imogen can perform acoustically with both voice and harp. She can also be booked as part of her chamber duo The Painted Fall, consisting of two voices, harp, and viola.

Imogen played before and during my wedding ceremony and wow - what a dream! I always wanted to walk down the aisle to Lana Del Rey - Video Games on the harp and Imogen learned the song especially for our wedding, as well as a couple of other songs too. Imogen is incredibly talented and professional, do not hesitate to book her for your event! Thank you so much, Imogen x

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I treat all event timings with flexibility, as I know timings frequently need to be adjusted. If you give me as much notice as possible, I usually expect to be able to accommodate changes.

How much time do you need to set up?

In an ideal world, I'd love to have 20 minutes minimum to set up so that I can unpack properly, carefully tune my harp, and have a quick warm-up. If this time needs to be shorter, I can plan ahead to reduce this set up period if requested.

Is the transport of your harp included in your quote?

Yes!

Do you need any equipment provided to play outdoors?

As I play acoustically, I can happily play outside without any additional equipment. However, if it rains, I will need cover from the rain as my instrument is valuable and is damaged by water. If playing outside, I work with clients to develop a contingency plan in case of rain or other compromising weather.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Yes absolutely. I know music is incredibly personal and I really enjoy it when clients pick out songs that are meaningful to them. Equally, I am happy to select pieces myself with some guidance on what atmosphere you would like for your guests.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Yes, I love learning new music for events as music is so personal. I am continually adding new music to my set list so I am more than happy to fulfil bespoke requests at no additional cost.
