Imogen Lees is a recent music student graduate of Royal Holloway, where she studied harp under Helen Sharp. She has also had masterclasses and lessons with Eleanor Turner, Eluned Pierce, and Ruth Faber, as well as participating in the Ibacus Harp Course, with tutelage from Imogen Barford and Charlotte Seale.
Imogen’s musical tuition began with the piano at the age of five, then taking up the violin two years later. She then moved on to the harp at ten years old (after pestering her parents for lessons from around the age of 2), which has since become her principal study instrument. She attained the ABRSM Grade 8 standard of performance for both harp and piano before enrolling at university.
As a soloist, Imogen has played at weddings and other events, including a champagne reception hosted by a local Conservatives’ party. She has also played at events hosted by Sue Ryder, a charity very close to her heart, and at the opening of a local nursing home. As well as performing, Imogen has also started teaching the harp, which she hopes to pursue as a career as well as playing at events.
Imogen has also had a great deal of orchestral experience from both school and university, and has performed at St. John Smith's Square with the International Harp Ensemble (now the National Youth Harp Orchestra of Great Britain).
