Ruby Tunes is the Mobile Disco run by Ian Sawyer, previously resident DJ at Moles Club's "The Big Cheese", Bath's longest running club night until the club's closure in 2023. I am one of the Recommended Suppliers for Bath's Historic Venues which includes the world famous Roman Baths, Pump Rooms and Guild Hall. I have also performed at many local venues and have recently had bookings at the likes of The American Museum, The Botanist and Apex Hotel in Bath, Chavenage House in Tetbury (as seen in Poldark and Rivals), Clevedon Hall, Folly Farm in Stowey, Coombe Lodge in Blagdon, Cumberwell Park in Bradford-On-Avon, Orchardleigh House near Frome, Cadbury House Hotel in Bristol, Priston Mill and Rye Hill Barn in Longbridge Deverill among others.

Ian Sawyer did me proud as the DJ for my 60th birthday party. He was very punctual and had everything set up and ready on time. His music collection is second to none and all of the guests ( Ages from 80 to 35) all danced our pants off and had a great time. I would order him again in a heartbeat.

Ian was brilliant from start to finish, he came in with a competitive quote and his communication in the run up to the event was exceptional. He also was so thorough with asking what we wanted and created a great atmosphere on the night of the event. His set up was professional and his set was super fun. Would 100% book him again!

A natural professional who absolutely made our wedding day. I cannot recommend Ian enough, he had everyone of all ages up and dancing, our dance floor was packed from the first dance to the very last song. If you are struggling to decide, or sitting on the fence, then just trust me, this is your guy.

Thanks Ian. Everyone who came was on the dance floor at some point whether 18 or 80! Ian was really flexible with his play list and responded to what was wanted at the time. Communication was very efficient and swift throughout. Would use again and would definitely recommend

From sending the first email to the final song in the early morning on Jan 31st '26, Ian was superb. At all times he was responsive, informative, helpful, courteous and delivered a fantastic set which kept the dancefloor busy all night. We wanted to create our own song list and Ian could not have been more collaborative. We would absolutely use Ruby Tunes in the future and would highly recommend for any event... great night!!

Ian was a fantastic DJ for our staff party! He got everyone onto the dancefloor, and chose a fantastic playlist based off of our suggestions and requests. We had a few restrictions due to the venue and he dealt with them with ease and professionalism, ensuring that we still were able to have a fantastic time! Would thoroughly recommend and will certainly keep his details for any future events!

If you have a playlist of music you would like me to play (e.g. Spotify, Tidal etc.) that is also completely fine.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Probably supporting Sigala at Bath Spa University's Summer Ball in 2022 plus Weddings and Events at The Roman Baths, Pump Rooms, Guildhall and Assembly Rooms in Bath. I also recently DJ-ed a lavish wedding at Chavenage House in Tetbury which has featured in TV shows such as Poldark, Rivals and Lark Rise To Candleford.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Not a problem - if your initial timings have changed just contact me to let me know so I can adjust my arrival time to ensure I am set up before the event begins.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I am able to provide a background music service, this can be for a Cocktail Hour or Wedding Breakfast for example and can be through my own DJ system or via an iPhone/iPad with a music playlist provided by the customer or something that I will tailor for the event.

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually require around 60-90 minutes to get all my equipment loaded in and set up. Ease of access to the venue and function room along with other factors such as stairs or lifts need to be taken into consideration also as this can impact on the time it requires me to set everything up - I'm a sole operator and load everything in myself.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

I have a music spreadsheet containing over 20,000 songs which I send to all my clients on booking which you can use as inspiration for any requests you'd like to make. I'm happy to play from a playlist that you provide or to go with the flow and take requests during the event, we can discuss particular music choices leading up to the event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

I bring all my own sound and lighting equipment, pictures and videos of which are available if you'd like to see them in action from other events.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

As a DJ I don't really "learn" pieces of music, but am happy to play music that I don't usually have with me. A great way to do this is to provide a Spotify (or similar) playlist in advance of the booking with all the required music included. This has been helpful recently with requests from countries such as India, Turkey and Poland among others..
