About Hero

Harpist and singer offering calm, intimate music for weddings and events, blending voice and harp to enhance each moment beautifully.

Music has been at the heart of my life for as long as I can remember, not just as a profession, but as a way of connecting with people at meaningful moments. I perform because music has the ability to hold emotion, shape atmosphere and say what words sometimes can’t. Being trusted with such important occasions is something I approach with great care and sensitivity. I am a classically trained harpist and vocalist, with a background that spans performance, composition and academic research. I studied at Chetham’s School of Music between the ages of 11 and 16, where I developed a strong technical foundation and began performing at a professional level. During this time, I sang at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, became a finalist at the International Harp Festival and composed a piece that reached number five in the iTunes Classical Charts. I later studied Music at the University of Oxford, graduating with an MA (Oxon) and holding a Crankstart Scholarship. I have since completed a PhD in Composition at Bangor University, where my research explored music as a powerful tool for communication and storytelling, an approach that continues to shape my performances today. My performance career has included appearances at venues such as the Royal Festival Hall, Bridgewater Hall and Wembley Arena, as well as work with the National Theatre and BBC. Alongside this, I regularly perform as a harpist and singer for weddings and private events, bringing the same level of professionalism and attention to detail to every setting. My style is calm and emotionally resonant. The combination of harp and voice creates a timeless sound that works beautifully for ceremonies and receptions alike. I pride myself on being organised, reliable and easy to work with and my aim is always to create music that feels personal, thoughtful, and quietly unforgettable.

Hero was pure quality. She played for my mother's funeral and the music and singing just couldn't have been any better. It was beautiful. Hero was considerate, timely communication, reliable and a really lovely person. I would without hesitation recommend.

I'd have no qualms in recommending Hero to anyone looking for a harpist to play at their event. She catered to special requests I had for my wedding. All of the guests commented on how beautiful both her playing and singing were. She helped make the day truly special. Thank you so much, you were wonderful ❤️

Hero played during our wedding ceremony and drinks reception and we were so glad to have her there! Having her lead the hymns really encouraged people to join in, and her playing was divine. We teared up when she started playing for me to walk down the aisle. Thank you so much, Hero!

Hero was an absolute delight to work with! She arrived early, was extremely professional, and performed beautifully—even at short notice. Her harp playing was stunning and was exactly what we needed. Highly recommend!

My wife and I booked Hero to play at our wedding in Anglesey. The staff at our wedding had previous experience with Hero too and they all couldn’t recommend her enough, which reinforced we’d made a great decision. We were not disappointed! She was excellent, and all family and friends have been paying compliments about Hero since the day. She was easy to deal with and pieced together everything we wanted, including learning some songs we really wanted for our day. She was incredibly easy to communicate with in the run-up to the wedding which made things so easy for us. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

Hero Douglas from Quaestio Productions runs workshop performances with our visitors from the US a couple of times a week in the summer. She plays the harp, sings in English and Welsh, talks to them about her instrument, work as a composer and also the local area and teaches them a few Welsh phrases. The experience of her playing the harp and singing is an enchanting experience. She really brings the Welsh culture to life for our travellers and is a truly inspiring young woman.
