Gwenllian is a professional harpist who is available for solo performances across the UK.
Welsh harpist Gwenllian Llyr is quickly gaining international recognition for her energetic and charismatic performances. In 2013, she was awarded 7th place at the USA International Harp Competition, and in 2010 she claimed the First Prize at the UK Camac Harp Competition. Gwenllian has recently been taking part in the celebration of actor Richard Burton’s life, performing at the publication of his diaries in New York and at the unveiling of his Star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. She has also been privileged to perform with renowned artists such as jazz legend Al Jarreau, actor Mathew Rhys, and international opera singer Bryn Terfel with whom she performed for HRH The Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace. In 2013, Gwenllian graduated with a Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School where she was awarded the William Schuman prize for outstanding achievement and leadership in music. Since then she has been working and living in London, teaching in King's College of Music and the Latymer Music Centre. She has recently begun studying the Advanced Diploma at the Royal Academy of Music this September, thanks to fantastic scholarships and grants from the Royal Academy of Music, The Arts Council of Wales and the John Fussell Award.
