I hired Groove Empire for my wedding in May 2022, they were absolutely fantastic. I had a singer and a guitarist for my ceremony, a saxophonist at my reception and the 9 piece band for my party. They were all brilliant throughout the day, my guests absolutely loved them and they got everyone dancing. Highly recommend.

Groove Empire were amazing. We had a very annoying power cut mid wedding but up until then they were incredible and all the wedding guests loved them! Almost wish I was getting married again to have them perform all over again!

They were absolutely outstanding. They really got the dance floor moving, they were fun, exciting and even helped get some guest home when their taxi was late. absolutely outstanding from first to last. We had our wedding in France so to be so professional was a big weight off our mind. Thoroughly recommend.

Groove Empire are a band with tons of smiles, good vibes and even better music. I found myself wanting to dance to every song they performed, and found myself thoroughly enjoying myself. I would happily hire them again if I was to have another event and hope I get to see them perform again!

If I was to offer other couples one tip, it would be to get Groove Empire to be your band. From the moment we were first in contact with Tim, he was incredibly responsive, professional and utterly attentive to all our needs. The band were incredibly flexible and collaborative and we worked together to put together our perfect wedding playlist which mixed new and old and included all our favourites. The musical talent of every band member was exceptional and they kept the dance floor packed for the full two-hour set. You will not find a better wedding band anywhere in Europe, and we know, we spent weeks checking!

Customer questions

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Our band members are some of the most in-demand musicians in the UK - with this in mind, we've expanded and have lots of amazing musicians who play regularly with the band. We know that choosing a singer can be important - so we'll always happily lock your favourite available singer in before confirming the booking.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our standard 9 piece lineup contains male & female vocals, sax, trumpet, trombone, guitar, keys, bass and drums. We believe this is the perfect lineup to experience our full sound and we easily fit into most venues. We can perform up to a show-stopping 15 piece band, with extra singers, horns & percussion. We do offer a 7 piece in rare circumstances.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

100%, we always provide a playlist between our sets and after our performance, up to our standard finish time of midnight. We can continue later, for £100 per hour. Or for £200 per hour we can provide a live DJ.

How much time do you need to set up?

We require a minimum of 90 minutes to set up and soundcheck, during which we need to make a minimum of 30 mins of noise. We will always make this as slick as possible and often setup in front of dinner without complaint (often this gets your guests excited for our performance!)

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our standard setlist is tried and tested, and is a guaranteed hit with crowds of all ages. We always try our best to cater for requests, and encourage you to tell us exactly what you like. We can provide the final setlist in advance on request and can change a few songs around last minute. We'll always learn a first dance if it's suitable for the band.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

We provide a professional sound and light rig as standard, usually operated by a member of the band. We can upgrade this for bigger spaces, speeches, multiple rooms, bigger bands, room decoration (uplighters, fairy lights, etc) and pretty much anything you can think of. We always encourage you to book a sound engineer if timings are tight.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes definitely, as long as they're suitable for the band. We can't play an unlimited number of requests though, so we recommend you sort this well in advance to avoid disappointment and there may sometime be an extra charge.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Our amazing team of singers, our horn section, our dancing and our interaction with the crowd, including performing out on the dancefloor with guests!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Between us, we've played at all of the worlds biggest venues and festivals - you name it, at least one of us will have been there! We've also experienced a lot of the UKs wedding venues, and will happily offer our experiences of your venue and how we can fit in best.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

We love the sound of Motown and soul bands, so that's a basis. But then take a look at live performances by Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, Beyonce. That's the kind of big sound we recreate.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Other than our regular slots at peoples fabulous weddings of all shapes and sizes, we've played at some super secret private parties that we're really not allowed to mention!
