About Greta

Acclaimed and versatile classical violinist in Bristol, festivals like Glastonbury & Boomtown, plus weddings, concerts and private events.
Violinist
Bristol

Music has always been at the centre of who I am. For me, performing is about connection, creating moments that feel alive, meaningful, and unforgettable for the audience, whether that’s in an intimate ceremony or on a festival stage. The violin is my voice, and every performance is shaped by the atmosphere, the people, and the story of the event itself. I am a professionally trained classical violinist based in Bristol, with many years of formal study and performance experience behind me. My musical education in Lithuania has given me a strong technical foundation, stylistic versatility, and a deep respect for musical detail, while my career as a performer has taught me how to adapt, communicate, and truly read a room. I take great pride in combining high-level musicianship with approachability, reliability, and a calm, confident presence. My journey as a musician has taken me far beyond the traditional concert hall. Alongside solo classical performances, I have appeared at festivals including Glastonbury and Boomtown with a band Psychoacoustic Goat, folk artist Leo Nathan and more, where I brought classical, jazz, folk music techniques into vibrant, contemporary settings. These experiences have shaped me into a flexible and confident performer, equally comfortable captivating large crowds or enhancing intimate, elegant occasions. Weddings and private events are a passion of mine as I understand how important music is in setting the emotional tone of a day, and I work closely with clients to ensure every detail feels personal and perfectly timed. From walking down the aisle to creating a refined ambience during a drinks reception, I approach each event with care, sensitivity, and professionalism. I am always immaculately presented, punctual, and fully prepared, so clients can relax knowing the music is in safe hands. What truly sets my act apart is the combination of artistry and intention behind every performance. I don’t simply play pieces, I create and shape experiences. My playing is expressive, warm, and I aim to make guests feel something genuine, whether that’s excitement, calm, joy, or reflection. I believe great performances come from attention to detail, emotional honesty, and a genuine love for what I do. As a musician, I am constantly refining my craft and expanding my repertoire. I value collaboration, professionalism, and clear communication, and I treat every performance, no matter the size with the same level of dedication and respect. My goal is always to exceed expectations and leave a lasting impression long after the final note has faded.

Psycho Acoustic Goat really impressed me when I caught their performance in Bristol in December 2025. I was drawn in almost immediately by how naturally they moved between styles. The set blended elements of techno, trance and folk in a way that felt confident and unforced, creating a sound that was unusual without ever feeling chaotic. Greta Murmaite’s violin playing stood out throughout the performance. Her approach was fast, confident and powerful, with a strong sense of direction behind every phrase. There was a psychedelic shimmer to her playing that lifted the music, moving between tight, driving passages and more open, flowing moments. Even during a song where she wore a vision-impeding goat mask, her playing remained precise and assured, which only added to the sense that she was completely at ease with the instrument. The violin often felt like the thread holding the set together, pushing it forward while shaping its mood. Marcus on acoustic bass was equally impressive. His playing was warm and grounded, locking everything into place while still leaving room for movement and surprise. Together, they delivered a performance that felt distinctive, well balanced and quietly exhilarating to witness live.

I attended a performance of Misa Tango by Martín Palmeri, presented by the Bristol Cabot Choir under the direction of conductor Ben England, with Greta leading the string quartet. It was an incredible event, a tango-inspired mass performed with passion, precision, and depth by outstanding professional musicians. Greta’s leadership stood out immediately. Her focus, expressiveness, and emotional commitment were striking, shaping the ensemble with confidence and sensitivity. Her playing felt deeply heartfelt and sincere, drawing the audience into the intensity and beauty of the music. It was a truly moving performance, full of energy and soul.
