About Good Times

You're guaranteed great times with Good Times, whatever the occasion !
Function band
Public liability insurance of £2 million

"Good Times", more fully called The Good Times Trio and Function Band comprise Greg Schofield on guitar and vocals, Noel Grummitt on piano and vocals, Kai O' Callgahan on guitar and vocals and last but not least, Aaron Lane on drums... originally formed as a Trio as recently as the beginning of 2019, three of us having been playing and making music together for the best part of 10 years in a connected duo and full band. We expanded to a 4 piece band in 2021 with the addition of percussion. Good Times offers a wide variety of well known pop, rock, rock n roll, Indie, New Wave, Dance and Disco classics throughout the eras. The songs are often played with a twist and there's often some folky and jazzy overtones in there. We pride ourselves on providing top quality entertainment not only musically but with lighthearted banter between ourselves and the audience who we build a rapport with quickly. The band offers a complete package of musical entertainment from solo classical piano for those quieter moments through to a full blown dance floor filling set of classic songs. In 2020, we added a DJ set from DJ Lane (if required) to along with full DJ lighting rig. Despite it's issues (and a late start to the season due to Covid, the band quickly found itself regularly gigging at major Holiday Parks throughout the Southwest as well as private functions and weddings...Professional and reliable, please let Good Times entertain you !

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We really love playing music and the most enjoyable thing for us is getting good feedback from an audience and seeing people dancing and enjoying themselves.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Although Good Times Trio is a new venture, our members have played together consistently for the last two and a half years either in our alternative 4 piece band or as duos at around 120 different venues from pubs to clubs, hotels, churches, private events and festivals.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

With three / four members of varying ages, our influences are pretty wide !

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

At the Great British Alternative Music Festival, Butlins, Minehead (with our alternative band, Falling Apart) and to an estimated audience of 12,000 people at the Downend Fireworks Spectacular in Bristol.

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

We have two / three vocalists in the band, all of whom either sing lead or backing vocals. Please be aware that we had a change of guitarist / vocalist member in October 2021.

Do you have different line-up options?

The standard line up is a four piece, comprising 2 electro acoustic guitars, piano / keyboards, two / three vocals all backed by manually played electric drums. For multi performance packages, it is quite possible to "mix and match" our musicians, for example, to have solo keyboard for quieter moments and building the line up from there.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, we can provide an ipod service either from your equipment (with your playlist) or from ours for free. We can offer a limited DJ service if required. Our PA can be used by a DJ of your choice until the venue closes for an additional £75.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance. Our drummer also performs as a DJ, so we can offer a DJ service as well if required,

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We would endeavour to learn a song of your choice given at least 1 month's notice, however there may be a premium payable of £50 per song for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc.

Good times played at my husband's 50th party on Saturday. Right from the start of the booking process, Gregg was really prompt at responding to queries. They were extremely professional and most importantly they got all of the party goers up on the dance floor on the night. They went above and beyond to make it a really great night. All of the songs they played were excellent and they made all the covers their own. I would really recommend Good times for a party or event. Emma in Bristol

We booked Good Times for our wedding celebration in July 2022 and they were fantastic. Greg was very easy and clear to discuss all the details with prior to the event. On the day they all showed up and sound checked on time and were very reliable. Their performance was fantastic! They had all our guests dancing and everyone kept wanting encore after encore. Good Times added a lot of fun to our wedding celebration, thanks again guys!
