Giulia and the Lizards are an energetic and engaging band featuring a line-up of professional musicians with more than 19 years of live performance experience within the UK specialising in weddings, corporate events and private parties. Giulia and the Lizards repertoire is characterised by a wide selection of Pop, Rock, Soul, R&B classics, uplifting Motown songs and famous Jazz standards. Being bi-lingual we also have a range of Italian and Spanish songs to choose from. The band is led by natural-born singer Giulia, a fearless performer who can smoothly adapt to all genres. With her soulful voice she never fails to get everyone involved. Expect a non-stop show, full of famous uplifting songs and complementary arrangements, which will get everyone up, dancing and singing along. All equipment is provided including lighting, and PA system, which can be adapted to the specific needs of the event and venue. We have a very flexible and personalised approach to each event, and always strive to provide a highly professional service throughout the entire booking process. This includes constant communication with our clients at all times, in order to guarantee a customised experience and outstanding service.

Extremely dissatisfied with the performance Despite planning the birthday event with their performance for a month, the biggest shock came on the date of the event. We chose Giulia as a performer and Jose as a band member, when he arrived 1 hour or so before the vent to the venue, we were told that Giulia is no longer available and he found another singer, leaving is no choice, but only to proceed with this... We got another musician, who wasn't the key in the overall performance and who we didn't book at all. The new singer's voice wasn't even close enough to the voice we chose, nor she wore the dress code we agreed upfront. We were also told that the singer would lead the event and would say a couple of words throughout the event, but it didn't happen. In a couple of instances she seemed lost and not capable of interacting with the audience. After having put so much effort in organizing and discussing the details of the event, it was very disappointing to see this outcome on the big day, in front of so many family and friends in the room.

Dear Vilija, Thanks for your review. Unfortunately in our line of work, when a singer gets sick on the day of an event, we have only 2 choices: Cancelling, which is not a great option, or bringing a replacement band member. As you can see, we have done 87 bookings and we only have outstanding and great looking positive reviews, so all of our clients have been really happy with all the band members and all of our shows. In fact, I turned up with a Trio for the fee of a Duo, precisely to try to make up for the fact the our original singer had a last minute heath issue. We wish we could deal with this like most people do, just call sick... but we do not have that benefit : We always strive to provide a line up of real high profile, musicians but I am so sorry that you feel the replacement singer was not as good as Giulia. (She has an extremely successful band here on Encore so we are very surprised). It is also very surprising to receive a review almost one year after the booking date but we respect your opinion and will do our very best to avoid any disappointments. Booked for a farewell party at a pub with a mix of friends. Everything was fantastic, from the ease of booking and communication with Jose leading up to the event to their 10/10 performance. They adapted to the crowd and entertained everybody. Everyone in my party loved them, pretty much everyone I spoke to commented how fantastic they were and kids were absolutely hypnotised by Giulia’s beauty and voice. One of the toddlers commented the next day “I think I like parties a lot, is there one tomorrow?”. For me, it was priceless having such a special last memory before moving countries the following morning.

Brilliant communication and wonderful band! Unfortunately Giulia was ill for our event, but the band handled the replacement (who was wonderful), and made sure it was seamless! They were brilliant musicians and I would highly recommend! They also spoke directly with the venue, and made everything super smooth on the day.

We booked guilia and the lizards for our festive cocktail house party and we had the best night ever! We worked with the band before the event to discuss timings, prices and set lists and worked out an amazing song list and logistics for the night! I can’t tell how how helpful the band were. When you’re having an event you want everything to run smoothly and I always felt so reassured by the band. They set up in our flat and made sure to check on volume, for the neighbours. The vibe they created was absolutely immense! People were dancing and losing themselves in the music, and the chants for ONE MORE SONG spoke for themselves! It was such a blast. The band are so easy to work with and prices were so reasonable. These are great great musicians who will take your party to the next level. Would totally recommend Gill and Tom x x

Jose was an absolute pleasure to deal with and the band performed fantastically. Everybody at our event said how impressed they were with the professionalism of the band, many saying the band was the high-light of the evening and would book the band themselves for weddings, etc! We asked the band to play a few requests and picked a range of songs from their current repertoire, which was a great mix of songs for everyone to enjoy. Thank you for being sensitive to the occasion - it was a charity event commemorating what would have been my late Father's birthday - and this was something very much considered. The band are extremely dynamic and although the listed singer could not attend the date of our event, singer Guilia is incredible and we couldn't have been happier! We'd love to invite the band back to any future celebrations with hold. 100% recommend these fantastic musicians for any occasion. HUGE THANKS and all the best, Nicola & Family

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

We strive to make sure the line-up you see is what you get on the night. We do have pre-auditioned musicians of our absolute trust, available in case a band member falls ill or is unavailable. As a professional band, our reputation means everything so you can be confident that all of our players are of a very high level.

Do you have different line-up options?

Duo: Vocals & guitar, drums Trios: Vocals & guitar, bass and drums OR Vocals, keyboards and drums 4-Piece: Vocals, bass, drums, and guitar OR keyboards 5-Piece: Vocals, bass, drums, guitar, and keyboards 6-Piece: Adding male singer, Sax or Trumpet

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run-up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via our PA after the final set until the venue closes, we provide this for an additional £60/ hour.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Of course, you can: our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA and lighting system are included in our quote for events with up to 200 guests.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Of course, we can: we take up to 3 requests free of charge. We love requests as they help us to keep on making our song list bigger.!
