Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We engage with our audience and work very hard to make it a special night. We also make a big fuss of the client be it Bride/Groom or Birthday Boy/Girl. You'll be glad you picked us.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Wedding, party venues, and hotels all around and the length and breath of the country. We've played the SS Great Britain (it's a ship), castles, and on the back of a truck more than once. We're flexible.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

The band is influenced by lots of music, from pop to heavy metal to dance music. There's something to enjoy in everything, it's why we have a such a wide repertoire of songs.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Well ... we've all been around a bit. Even Rich, the baby in the band. Join us at the bar and we'll have a chat about it, okay ?

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Yes it will, it'll be me.

Do you have different line-up options?

The band is usually a three piece. We can add a saxophone player, a fantastic girl singer, or a keyboard player if you have particular requirements. We can, and have, covered everything from soul, Motown and 80s to a full Pink Floyd show.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

That's absolutely fine, just let us know. We're all experienced musicians and will do everything to make sure your event runs smoothly.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, we provide this as standard and it's free until midnight. If you need it for longer, there's a small increase in the fee.

How much time do you need to set up?

If the load in is straightforward then the PA can be running for your guests within 30 to 45 minutes, of our arrival at the venue. Usually we arrive a hour and a half before the band is required to play

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Absolutely! Pick from the list or suggest your own not on the list, if its performable by a trio we ll do it ! Similarly, if there's something you absolutely do not want to hear, that's fine as well.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

We are a fully self contained show with modern lights and PA. Minimum space we require to set up is approximately three metres width by two metres deep but we will work with whatever is available if required.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Of course, this is our speciality and we don't charge extra. All we ask is at least two weeks notice so we can get what you want just right. we have played requests as varied as Rage Against The Machine, Johnny Cash, ACDC, The Specials, Tom Odell Stone Roses Bon Jovie and Madness to name but a few

I enjoyed the band and they are solid three piece band... however my issue lies with the communication side. Early in the booking I was filled with lots of confidence about the booking. Ian explained things well asked questions etc. Asking me if it was a suprise party etc and suggested he would set up and kick off the event to help the suprise. Also he asked about the event and songs etc. I was extremely happy. I explained about timings, asked for them to learn a song to play especially for the birthday girl, didn't request any specific songs to play BUT did ask for a couple of songs not to play. After this I didn't have any reply, I began to get worried and asked if he had received the information alright to which I did eventually get a reply to say they had. So panic over. Come to a few days before the event and I asked if everything was alright, I was asked to confirm about timing etc. I mentioned these were in the emails along with the other details, but I confirmed the main things again. Cut to the evening, the birthday girl arrived as they had just arrived. We then sat in silence for a while until the manager of the venue put some music on for us while the band set up. Eventually the band was ready for half 8 and my guests were getting hungry. They played there first set, I and many of the guest really enjoyed the music but I was constantly being asked when the food would be available because we planned to have it between sets. Last orders were 11:00, so the food was rushed out in the time between the first and the second set. People were happier and much responsive to the second half due to them having finally eaten. Once again the band was great, however the details for the requested songs and especially the songs not to be played had obviously not been taken into account as non of my requests were followed. The band are awesome as musicians, they play a good variety of music and they play it really well. I would go watch them if they were playing somewhere but due to my experience with the communication side I wouldn't book them myself. Pros . Excellent musicians with a wide variety of songs. Suitable for most occasions. Cons. Didn't feel I was a valued customer, poor communication and didn't have my requests taken into account.

Hi Neil , first let me say how sorry I am you and your wife had anything other than a fantastic night , as our reputation speaks for itself, as our previous reviews clearly demonstrate. Addressing the different issues you mention above , Our system was not running at 7 pm on the dot , no , we had a slight technical problem , the house system was running almost immediately though , and to be fair, at no point was the room ' silent' I did also confirm an arrival time of 7pm with you just prior to the night, and we were there just before that. As soon as our system was available we connected a guests phone running a Spotify play list as you requested. As for any issues with the food, you did say you would leave the running order of the night to us, and I did inform you we would perform at 8.30, which you agreed to . The food came out as soon as we stopped , and we resumed our second set at 10 o'clock approximately, To be fair to us, this caused no problems we were aware of, and you did have the opportunity to ask us to play earlier, which we could easily have done so. As to our communications, as you say we replied promptly to everything UNTIL, and this is where it's gone wrong, you sent an email detailing several specifics in late October, song requests , and ' non' requests, as you say above. Hand on heart, I never saw that until I went looking this morning, after reading your review. It wasn't part of the same email thread from earlier ,and somehow it got missed . Our bad , and apologies for this, we take a pride in honoring clients requests, as you can see from our other reviews, and would never just ignore them . Occasionally , the way the agencies system works can be a little ' impenetrable' shall we say, something I have tried to bring to their attention before. I would also say though, in our defense, the fact I didn't reply might have been a clue we hadn't seen it ? We were in touch in the run up to the gig and you never mentioned it. Also if I may say , I asked you to reconfirm the event start times and venue address because this is standard practice in case anything (venue, contact number , load in times etc) may have changed since we last spoke, not because we've 'lost' the info, or some such. I hope you can see from the above, that we did try to do our best for you both, As we do for all our clients, but on this occasion , one tiny communications slip up, and communication is a two way street, is it not, unfortunately spoiled things slightly, though on the night , we did our best to make it a good one , taking requests from the dance floor - even carrying on after last orders to complete this, and if you had brought any concerns or complaints to us directly we would have done all we could to rectify them immediately. Yours sincerely Ian

Gig machine played at our wedding and contributed to make it so special. We had the best conga and everybody danced and had the best dance. They played my requests. They were there with lots of time to spare. Big up to Ian’s son who filled in for the drummer at the last minute. I highly recommend them all and our guests loved them too. Laurence

My 70th birthday party was a great evening made fantastic by Ian's band! They were great in every way. They arrived in plenty of time, setup quickly and efficiently and then the great music began! Beforehand Ian asked me for a list of the kind of music I liked and they played lots of my favorites and added in plenty for the younger partygoers too. Ian worked the crowd brilliantly and got us all dancing. We had a terrific time and I certainly totally forgot about my creaking 70 year old joints! I can wholeheartedly recommend Ian's band.
