Gabor Mezei

I was born in 1966 in Budapest, Hungary, and I also studied here and in a nearby small town. When I was 14, I became interested in music, that was when I got my first guitar. I studied music for almost 15 years, in the last 5 years in the schools of the National Entertainment Center (OSZK). That was the period when I fell in love with jazz music. I was most impressed by the early American swing, whose most prominent representatives were Frank Sinatra, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman. I have been involved in many bands since 1996, from guitar duo to band of five. Traditional swing and Latin jazz formed the largest part of our repertoire, which is well known and loved in all parts of the world. I have been living in the United Kingdom since 2008, currently in a small town near London. Currently I work as a solo musician providing enjoyable background music for weddings, events, exhibitions as well as corporate parties.
