About Fatman Alley

We're a 5 piece party band playing rock, pop and soul from the 60s to the present day - no venue too large or too small!
Party band
West Midlands
Public liability insurance of £10 million

Now in our 21st year, we've played hundreds of events, weddings, birthdays, cricket and rugby balls, beer festivals, and charity bashes along the way - and with our mix of rock, pop and rocky soul, there's always something for everyone! We are all experienced musicians and, above all else, we love playing live and getting your guests dancing. We fit in with whatever our client wants - and have played everywhere from professional stages to small function rooms, inside or outside... the elements and even an incoming tide have yet to stop us playing!

A massive thank you to Fatman Alley for supporting our Bike4Life event on 1st September. Fatman Alley were the 3rd band on the stage and they were brilliant, they really got the audience singing and dancing which was great to see. The energy of the band was amazing and that was really felt in the audience. Thank you again for supporting our Bike4Life event and Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, we hope you can join us in 2025.

I re-hired Fatman Alley for my wife's birthday after booking them for my 50th a few years ago. They were superb and GOT THE PARTY ROCKING. Superb night, would have them back in a heart beat. Great night, great memories.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We're usually told it's energy, range of tracks, and great fun - "there was something for everyone!" And, apparently, we're very easy to work with! (Seriously, no prima donna nonsense or demands from us).

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Too many weddings and parties to list at private homes, hotels, golf clubs, cricket clubs, pubs, bars and stately homes. Also music festivals indoors and on stages outdoors; many village and community hall events; VW Festivals at showgrounds; stages at beer festivals; village events in farmers' fields and by the sea outside the Ty Coch Inn in Nefyn!

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

We love everyone from the Rolling Stones to the Stone Roses, and from sixties funk to nineties indie rock. Our strong point is our range rather than one type of music.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

We normally perform at private events but some have been big, including national VW Festivals, Midlands music festivals (like Brewood) and events for the NHS and the RAF.

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Yes - Richard has been our only singer since the formation of the band twenty years ago (when we were spring chickens!)

Do you have different line-up options?

No - but we can play with a brass section - see "add ons".

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Don't worry - very few events run exactly on time! We don't worry about tweaks - there's never been a gig we couldn't make work.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes - we provide full wrap around music as part of the service, or we can play your own mixes over our PA.

How much time do you need to set up?

We like one and a half to two hours - we've done it in less when needed. We'll have music on from guest arrival time.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set list is always changing but we do our best to incorporate requests if you have them. Our main aim is to ensure there's something for everyone!

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

All equipment is included - our PA is pretty powerful and can work in outside spaces; if the space is small we can scale it down. We can make any space work for you!

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We can do this on occasions if a song isn't in our list - it depends what it is and how long we have to your event. We can always have a chat about it!
