Oxford
Emily is a second year music student at Magdalen College, involved mostly in playing orchestral and chamber music on Oboe/Cor Anglais.

After studying oboe at her school and playing at her local music service, Emily achieved her DipABRSM whilst studying with David Cowdy at the Junior RNCM, and regularly performed works as a soloist and with her wind quintet in the RNCM Concert Hall. She now studies with David Theodore, who teaches at the RCM. Over the past few years, Emily has performed at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall with the Hallé Youth Orchestra as principal oboe/cor anglais and the Greater Manchester Music Hub Wind Band as well as at the Royal Albert Hall and Birmingham Symphony Hall. Her recent highlights have included performing Mahler's first symphony in the International Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, touring Dublin and Durham with the Hallé Youth Orchestra, and performing Mahler's sixth symphony with the City of Sheffield Youth Orchestra in the Sheldonian Theatre. After receiving scholarship offers to four of the top conservatoires, Emily chose to study music at Oxford and plays with a number of the university's top ensembles. She recently formed a new ensemble, called the 'Ostro Quintet', whose performance of Ligeti's Six Bagatelles and Arnold's Three Shanties in early March this year marked their debut as a wind quintet.
