Customer questions
What do your clients love most about your performances?
My clients have often said they are over the moon with the special pieces that I learn for the wedding ceremony - I really enjoy finding ways to play familiar songs as a solo guitarist - so that you clearly hear the chords and melody in the performance. Clients have often said that I created the perfect relaxed yet upbeat atmosphere as background music too.
Which venues have you performed at in the past?
I have performed at various wedding venues including Dewsall Court, Homme House, Barns & Yard, Lemore Manor & Hampton Court Castle.
As a musician I have also performed at venues across the UK, including at Manchester Albert Hall, The Roundhouse in London, Glasgow Fruitmarket, and Bristol O2, as well as session work at Abbey Road, & with Lighthouse Family.
Which artists have you been most influenced by?
My playing style is very influenced by guitarists such as James Taylor, John Martyn, Tommy Emmanuel and Nick Drake, but I enjoy playing songs from all sorts of artists, especially the Beatles.
What is the most high profile gig you've performed?
The most high profile wedding gig I have performed was a wedding at Hampton Court Castle in Herefordshire. It is a truly incredible venue and I hope to go back there soon.
Apart from weddings I have also played at London's Roundhouse in the band Fictonian, supporting Nick Mulvey on his UK tour. It was a great show!
What if my timings change after I've booked you?
It's no problem at all to make changes up until the day - I can be totally flexible!
Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?
No I don't sorry.
How much time do you need to set up?
I normally arrive 1 hour before the performance time, (just to be safe!), although it usually only takes me 10 minutes to set up.
Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?
Yes! I can tailor the setlist to meet your needs, and select particular songs for parts of the ceremony & I will happily prepare 1 or 2 pieces on request - perhaps for the aisle entrance or the exit. Normally I will play a selection from my repertoire for the drinks reception or through dinner.
Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?
Yes! I bring everything I need including amplification & extension leads. All I need from the venue is a power outlet somewhere nearby, and an armless chair.
Can you learn specific pieces before the event?
Yes! I will happily prepare 1 or 2 pieces on request - perhaps for the aisle entrance or the exit. (Included in the price!)
