D&L Acoustic Duo are a dynamic duo available to hire for all kinds of events. Made of singer Lizzy and guitarist Duncan Howlett they play bespoke acoustic covers of classic & contemporary songs. Using a live looper pedal they add percussion and extra guitar layers to create a much bigger sound and some really exciting arrangements. Lizzy & Duncan have a vast experience in the music industry having learnt, played, performed & taught for many years. The pair met when they moved to Brighton to study at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music and have been working together ever since. They played in some of Brighton’s best original bands, including the 8 piece original funk band The Grand Majestic who played at many prestigious venues & events including supporting The Brand New Heavies at Brighton’s Komedia, the Californian funk legends Breakestra at Brighton’s Concorde 2 & playing at London’s Lovebox Music Festival. They have worked as an acoustic covers duo for many years entertaining at some of the best Wedding and live music venues in the South. All the time that they have spent working together has created a great dynamic between them which is portrayed in the music, making their duo a great and exciting addition to any event. Their repertoire is vast ranging from classic to contemporary and they are always willing to personalise their set around your event including any special requests you have. With top quality equipment, including a Mackie PA rig, they have all the equipment needed to provide a great sound at your event. They can also offer Duncan Howlett as a solo guitarist.

The duo were amazing, everyone loved them. They were friendly, professional and great people to work with. Highly recommend them as they delivered exactly the sound we wanted for our wedding and to our particular taste in music, which is a little fussy.

We had the most incredible wedding day, thank you. It had a lot to do with all our wonderful suppliers like yourselves. We have received so many compliments about your perfomances both during the ceremony & the canape reception. Your version of 1000 Years for me to walk down the aisle to was absolutely gorgeous. The song we asked you to learn, Suddenly, has been mentioned a lot by those who recognised it from Scott & Charlene’s wedding in Neighbours back in the 80’s. The choice of songs during the canape reception went down really well. We went to another wedding in October & their reception music was so loud we found it hard to hear one another. Our guests really appreciated the background music you provided. We would not hesitate to recommend you to other couples looking for live acoustic music for their wedding day. Thanks again.

Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

Our standard line up is as a duo with vocals and fingerstyle acoustic guitar. We can also offer solo vocals to backing music or solo acoustic guitar.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We will always try to be flexible and accommodate any changes. Please do let us know with as much notice as possible so that we can make sure the event runs smoothly for you.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We are more than happy to play an acoustic playlist between our sets. We can also do this before or after our performance however additional time on set will require additional payment. Let us know if this is of interest.

How much time do you need to set up?

We can setup very quickly. We would usually look to setup about half an hour before the start of our performance.

Can you roam around while you perform?

We don’t usually roam as part of our performance, although we may be able to sort this if this is a specific requirement. Please get in touch if you wish to discuss further.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

We love to personalise our sets around your favourites and you are welcome to choose songs that you would/wouldn’t like included. We are happy to learn a special request that isn’t already on our repertoire, arrangement dependant.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

We have top quality PA equipment and this is included in our quote. We don’t currently provide lighting.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes. We will always do our best to include as many of your favourite songs/artists as possible. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
