Country Toads

Country Toads are a compelling musical duo known for their versatility and vibrant energy. Comprising Chris Rasdale on violin and guitar, and Ross Little on piano, this duo specialises in delivering captivating performances, with a repertoire spanning well loved folk songs, classic sing-alongs from the 60s/70s, jazz standards and even lively ceilidh sets with dance calling. Chris Rasdale has a solid grounding in traditional and folk music, having been brought up through the Feis Rois in the Highlands of Scotland. Following his music studies in Glasgow, he spent several years playing professionally in France, which allowed him to explore other genres and expand his repertoire to include blues, rock and jazz. Chris plays several instruments and his natural ear for improvising comes across clearly in his performances. Ross Little forms the other half of Country Toads, with his soulful piano playing complimenting the songs and fiddle tunes perfectly. Hailing from Drumnadrochit in the Highlands, Ross was also brought up playing traditional music, but quickly transitioned to playing jazz, particularly during his musical studies in Edinburgh. Ross is a wizard on the ivories, blending his jazz expertise seamlessly with his traditional roots. Country Toads have an incredibly full sound, with bass drum and vocal harmonies completing the mix. Whether it’s spinning through a lively reel or swaying to a gentle ballad, Country Toads ensure that their music perfectly matches the mood and spirit of the occasion. This adaptability makes them an ideal choice for weddings, corporate events, and private parties, where they tailor their performances to enhance the unique ambiance of each setting.
