Hello! I'm currently in my last and 4rth year of my undergraduate bachelors degree in Jazz Vocal Studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. I started of as a violinist at the age of four, and even attended the National Children’s Orchestra from the age of 11. But I always new the instrument I most connected with was my voice, and started taking voice lessons when I was 12 as a joint second study, which eventually became my first instrument at the age of 14. I initially trained in Musical Theatre in my early teenage years for vocal technique alongside some classical training, but I've always focused and encapsulated other contemporary styles. It was very clear to me that Jazz was the language I could most naturally express myself with and went on to train in this style, specialising in jazz, soul and r'n'b as well as musical theatre. I have extensive experience in performance both as a lead singer and backing singer. As a lead singer I have sung a diverse range of ensembles such as jazz big bands, jazz small ensembles, dixie jazz bands, voice/piano duos and pop/funk function bands. As a backing singer I've sang for both function and pop bands. I also sing with choirs and close harmony singing groups. I love teaching and have been involved in one to one lessons over the past year and I'm currently working alongside the group Everybody's Climbing Tree organising music communication workshops for primary and secondary school children in the North East London Area.
