I gained my music degree at the University of Edinburgh, specialising in voice and violin. I am regularly booked as a soprano soloists by Scottish Borders musical groups. Particular highlights have been singing Hansel’s Messiah, Bach’s B minor Mass, and Brahms’ German Requiem. I am asked to sing regularly at weddings (and also funerals). It is a wonderful experience to know that I am making an important contribution to their day. As a violinist, I lead the Peebles Orchestra, Southern Light Opera in Edinburgh, Edinburgh Showcase Orchestra, Edinburgh Grand Opera and also play as part of the Christie Quartet, the Rose Street Quartet and the Eildon Quartet. I am happy to play as a soloist also. I love performing- I am equally happy singing or playing. I also can provide a small group of singers or a string trio or quartet for your event. Claire was fantastic! Our wedding was total chaos until the last second with plans being changed late on due to poor weather. Claire was an absolute professional. Having only booked her the night before and with little in the way of direction, she came in, got herself set up, no one was available to go through the ceremony with her but she performed perfectly as if we had rehearsed the whole thing many times over. I’m so glad we booked her, it really added sophistication to our small intimate wedding. She also performed an hour of pop/contemporary music afterwards which everyone really enjoyed. I would recommend her 100%.
