Christopher Hughes

Christopher Hughes (23), comes from Nantwich, Cheshire. Chris has played the piano ever since he was 5 years old, and attended Chetham’s School of Music for his sixth form education. There, Chris studied the piano with John Gough, taking up the Organ as a second study with Christopher Stokes, and regularly accompanied the many skilled singers of the vocal department there. Christopher enjoyed an Organ Scholarship with the Catholic Cathedral in Leeds and the tutelage of Cathedral Organist David Pipe, and regularly accompanied the choirs in services on the Organ. Currently, Chris studied Music Performance at the University of Leeds, taught by Jeremy Davis, and is proud to have attained a Distinction in his DipABRSM last year. He was also greatly involved with the LUU Music Society, conducting the Chamber Choir from September 2020 until the summer of 2022, as well as taking part in Symphonic Choir, Chamber Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra. Chris had the honour to perform Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto, a personal favourite, with the Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Ben Frampton. Chris has now moved to London to begin studying his Master's degree in Organ Performance at the Royal College of Music.
