About Christine Kammerer

Award-nominated singer, pianist and lyreplayer. Specialises in musicals, folk, classical and pop/rock. Let me make you day special.
Singing pianist

Christine Kammerer is an internationally known singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and composer who is also lead singer and lyre player in the Viking band Gjaldulei and dark Nordic folk band Jotun Revolution. In her concerts/performances you can expect a great combination of original music and covers (depending on the wishes), and she is always willing to take on requests for songs which would make a client's event extra special. She has released 2 EP’s, 3 singles and a music video “Raven Brings Runes” out. In 2023 she was amongst the “Highly Recommended” at DKOS at Celtic Connections. In 2021 Kammerer’s song “Eversong” was also among the finalists in World Songwriting Awards. Throughout the past 6 years she has performed at castles, festivals and venues Denmark, the UK, Germany and USA. Some of Kammerer’s collaborations are with: Lofotr Viking Museum (NO), Moesgaard Museum (DK), The Scottish Crannog Centre (UK), Helsinore/Kronborg Castle (DK), Kjell Braaten, Bethesda Nordic, UNESCO RILA / University of Glasgow, Ledreborg Castle, Land of Legends. With her band Gjaldulei she performed for Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II, at the opening of the exhibition “Togtet” at the National Museum of Denmark. In 2022 she moved to Scotland on a Global Talent Visa for Music and since then she has performed in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, Ayrshire and Kenmore. Kammerer is also a producer, works as a studio singer and as an Affiliate Artist at University of Glasgow. Apart from being a composer and singer, Kammerer is a Musicologist who works with curating cultural heritage through music and performance. Specializing in the Viking Age. Working in the intersection between history, culture and music also lead her to developing the event “Whisky and Witches” a collaboration with Jane Ross, owner of the whisky bar Mother Superior in Edinburgh. THE ORIGINAL MUSIC Kammerer’s music is a fusion of Nordic and Celtic folk soundscapes, with a distinctive cinematic and symphonic character to it. Together with her hypnotic and sonorous voice she draws the listener into a universe, which moves from tales of human nature to stories about folklore, myth and legend. At times quiet and storytelling, inviting her audience to contemplate and immerse themselves in the music. At times picturesque and grandiose, creating a magical journey through tales and time.

Christine took care of arranging set up with the venue (Oran Mor) herself, was very friendly, punctual and had a fantastic voice. We would have no hesitation of recommending Christine to others.

Christine sang at my birthday party and completely won over a diverse audience, some liked the big rousing ballads and others the traditional scots songs. She created a real buzz, we´re still talking about her the day after. I personally like the way she interprets traditional Scottish songs, others like her version of Adele´s music. An accomplished performer.

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always strive to meet my clients needs the best, and understand that timings can change when planning an event. If the timings change slightly on the day, please let me know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I would be happy to talk about creating a playlist which I could put on before and after my sets, and in the break. I want to help you create the best atmosphere possible for your event.

How much time do you need to set up?

My setup time depends on if there is a PA available at the venue or if I need to set up my own. It is usually between 30 minutes-1 hour including sound check.

If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?

Yes of course, as long as the piano is working and in tune, then I am happy to play on it!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

My setlist consists of songs I have performed live throughout the past 6 years, but I am very quick at learning new material. I constantly update my setlist and welcome ideas for new songs. Should you have any requests I am happy to talk about how I can structure a repertoire that fits your event.

Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?

Yes I am, I can bring my own piano, guitar or lyre.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Even if a song is not included in my setlist, there may be a chance that I already know it. I will happily accomodate 2 special requested songs for your day. If you require more, there may be extra fees for extra rehearsal time.
