Christine Kammerer

CHRISTINE KAMMERER is a Danish-born, award-nominated artist celebrated for her fusion of Nordic and Celtic folk music, blending symphonic elements with ancient songs and cross-cultural storytelling. Her latest project, Echoes of North, unites musicians from Scotland and Scandinavia, creating a powerful symphonic fusion that brings the echo of the ancient into the modern world. Using her background in Musicology and Comparative Cultural Studies, and skills as a Music Producer, her forte is developing projects which focus on curating cultural heritage and strengthening intercultural connections through music, living history and performance. Specializing in early music/Viking Age music – solo and with her band Jotunger – Kammerer has for the past 7 years collaborated with choirs, museums, festivals and universities across Europe. These include her work as an Affiliate Artist at UNESCO RILA at University of Glasgow, working on projects with The Scottish Crannog Centre and the Maryhill Integration Network’s “the Joyous Choir”. Performances and projects in UK, Scandinavia, Germany, and USA include National Museum of Denmark – including a performance for Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark – , Moesgaard Museum, Lofotr Vikingmuseum, Land of Legends (Sagnlandet Lejre), several venues and collaborations with distilleries. Cultural heritage is also at the heart of her innovative work with Musical Whisky Experiences, the most well-known one being the 5-star, award-nominated Whisky & Witches, which explores the role of women in the history of alcohol and focuses on alcohol as part of culture and rituals. As part of her work, Kammerer offers new creative ways for a brand to activate their expressions. Creating for instance Musical Whisky Interpretations (MWI) and jingles. With the Musical Whisky Experiences, Kammerer has made an international name for herself, performing at some of the biggest whisky festivals including Spirit of Speyside Festival (UK), Feìs ìle (UK), and to international venues and festivals like Schloss Thurnau (GER), Copenhagen Distillery (DK), Tunsberg Whisky Festival (NO), Belfast Whiskey Week (NIR), and Celtic Castle (GER).
