Ceithir

Ceithir (pronounced kay-her) are a four-piece ceilidh band based in Glasgow. We bring together our combined experience of Scottish traditional music, folk, jazz and rock to create music that's sure to excite and get you ceilidh-ing in no time! All graduates of the University of Glasgow's prestigious Music course, we pride ourselves in both our professional experience and hassle-free approach to making your event happen with the least fuss possible. We come prepared with a full PA system that ensures we sound just right and can be heard clearly to make your night a success. This lets us offer the ability to run your playlist of choice to 'DJ' through our system, tailoring the music when we're not playing to your event. We also offer 2-piece and 3-piece ensembles for those events that need a bespoke solution; most recently we've played as a fiddle, guitar and double bass line-up which worked excellently for the client and the space she was hiring. Although we believe four players with drums and bass provides a great 'oomph' to the music and dancing, don't hesitate to let us know if you'd prefer a smaller group and we'll see what we can do.
