Enthusiastic and versatile harpist enjoying playing in a variety of different projects in London

Cara Dawson is a harpist currently studying at the Guildhall School of Music, having previously attended the prestigious Chethams School of Music where she was winner of the Ida Carol prize for strings. Cara has performed with orchestras around England, in venues such as Royal Festival, Barbican Hall and Cheltenham Music Festival, under the baton of conductors including Pietari Inkinen , Paul Mann and François-Xavier Roth. Cara is a keen chamber musician, having performed with several various combinations of instruments showcasing at Brandenberg Choral festival, Leeds College of Music and Durham Cathedral to name a few. In recent years, Cara has brought the harp to various new creative projects and has worked with spoken word artists, singer songwriters, sound installation artists, actors and composers to create exciting new pieces in Barbican Curve Gallery, Milton Court Hall and BBC’s Godiva Music Festival. As a background musician and wedding/function performer, Cara presents a large repertoire spanning genres from classical to jazz to pop, and endeavours to meet a client’s needs whatever the occasion.
