Having played the bagpipes from a young age, I have had the pleasure of performing around the world- from Ireland to Oman, I was also part of the band that led the Scottish contingent at the Tartan Day Parade in New York City. I have provided a memorable experience for a whole host of weddings and events, with a string of positive reviews behind me.

Callum arrived on time and was very accommodating regarding the unique acoustics of the venue, as we were concerned that the noise level would be too much for the space. Callum was friendly and personable to the crowd, saying a small intro before each song, all of which were expertly played and received rounds of applause. After the set, we received multiple comments from customers remarking on Callum’s performance, and would be keen to re-book in the future!

Callum performed at our first Burn's event in Cardiff. He gave us a brief introduction of the history of the event, as well as the history of certain poems like 'Auld Lang Syne'. He had a great rapport with the guests, and we'd be more than happy to book again!

Customer questions

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I've had the pleasure of performing all over the world, including Oman, leading the Tartan Day Parade in New York, and the British Embassy in Dublin. I have played at many venues around Scotland, including the Massed Schools Beating the Retreat at Edinburgh Castle, Gleneagles Hotel, Edinburgh Conference Centre and Crieff Highland Games.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

I grew up loving the music of the late Gordon Duncan, who inspired me to pick up a chanter at an early age. I have always loved Scottish folk and Celtic rock (even joining a band myself), and regularly listen to the like of Skerryvore, Wolfstone, and Hò-rò.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I am able to be flexible with my timings, and will always do my best to try and accommodate any changes in the lead up to the event.

How much time do you need to set up?

I would require around 30 minutes of set up time, however I always like to get to events early to have a quick, final consultation with the hosts and familiarise myself with the venue.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

You are welcome to pick from my set list and create a selection of tunes that you would like. However, during the consultation I am happy to discuss learning new songs at your request!

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

I am able to bring all my own equipment- my bagpipes, tuner, as well as full Scottish dress. On request, I can even provide ear plugs for guests!

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Following a consultation I will be able to learn specific songs or tunes! I would like to have at least a months notice so I can fully prepare.
