Callum Ettrick

I began playing around 15 years ago when I was a kid after being inspired by seeing The Beatles on Ed Sullivan- overtime my passion has grown and developed, as I’ve learned to love the craft of songwriting and storytelling through music. My performance philosophy has been heavily influenced from artists like Bruce Springsteen, soul performers from the 60s, and bands like The Clash- high energy, emotionally intense, and dynamic. My solo performances try to capture some of this whilst still maintaining a kind of restraint and commitment to melody that is necessary with a stripped back/acoustic show… I’d like to say I’m a versatile performer and can do a wide variety of genres depending on the context of the gig! I’ve released 3 singles of my own, as well as having many years of experience gigging by myself and with a band in venues around the South West, and Bristol in particular, previously having headlined historic venues like the Louisiana in Bristol, and The Half Moon in London. My music is heavily rooted in where I’m from, and the places and people I grew up with. My voice always carries through a slight hint of my native Gloucester accent as a result of this.
