Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

The fact that clients can relax and leave everything in my hands. They like my unruffled friendly approach and my ability to play music that suits the mood at any particular part of the occasion.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Blakelands Country House,. The Midland Institute, Edgbaston Golf Club, Cannon Hill Park, The Town Hall Halifax, Moseley Old Hall, Patshull Park, Pendrell Hall, Hundred House Hotel, Oak Farm Hotel, Hilton Hall, The Moat House, Brocton Hall, Mercure Birmingham, Fairlawns Hotel, Ramada Park Hall, Moor Hall Hotel, Burlington Hotel, Casltle Brom, Bolton Castle.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

John Williams. Brian May.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Recital for the Treasury Music Society in London. On a completely different occasion I had the pleasure of playing at a wedding with Ken Dodd as a family guest We chatted afterwards and he was exceedingly complimentary and down to earth. He spoke eloquently during the reception and was of course brilliantly entertaining.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I understand that timings can change and l can be flexible to accommodate these to ensure that your event runs smoothly.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Breaks are normally short and fill in music is not required. I can offer the use of a mic for speeches, reading or announcements within the contracted hours.

How much time do you need to set up?

I always arrive approximately 1 to 1.5 hours prior to the start to allow time to set up before guests arrive. It's important for me to find the best position to sit and liase with event staff.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Yes you can. You can also ask for specific styles such as just classical or spanish or a mix.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes all equipment is provided. I use my own amplification with a radio mic to my guitar. This offers far greater flexibility with the set up position.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Yes. I have arranged countless pieces at the request of clients. I just need a reasonable amount of time to do this. There is no charge for this. Songs arranged include Isn't She Lovely, Bring Me Sunshine, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Lovely Day, The Wonder Of You, We've Only Just Begun, Africa .....

Amazing! Brian played for our wedding reception drinks and he was even better than we could have imagined. So many guests asked how we found him and told us how impressive it was. We highly recommend and will be finding another opportunity to book in the future!

Brian was lovely, he played all our songs what we requested and other songs that suited the ceremony. I would recommend him to anyone who would love to play their own theme songs for their ceremony. He also went an extra mile to rehearse my entrance song before the ceremony and nailed it on the day! Thank you again Brian!

“Brian was amazing for us on our wedding day and to have his considered professional judgement was a huge factor in removing an element of stress on the day. Both me & my wife were a little on the fence about having live music for our ceremony & drinks reception, however that changed. Two and half weeks prior, my younger sister got married and she had a harp player and it added so much to the occasion. We wanted something more fitting to both of us and had already had long arguments / discussions about our non-live music playlist over long evening meals. When we approached Brian about 10-12 days out and had a conference call with him, he was so understanding about the mood we were after and was very obliging about two specific tracks we wanted for during the key part of the ceremony. Neither of these tracks were part of his repertoire but he was prepared to learn them specially and report back how they worked. He kindly did this over a weekend and gave us the reassurance and confidence they would work, and indeed they did. We had the complication of hoping for the best but expecting the worst, weather wise on the day. A huge thing, given that we both really wanted to have the ceremony outside. It was touch and go but it all worked so beautifully and I cannot believe how much Brian’s playing lifted things and our spirits. Such a special gathering and intimate one, given we had less than 25 guests. Brian was also such a gent and adaptable, when the heavens did open and we had our drinks reception inside as a result. He knew exactly what to play throughout the course of this part of the day and again, it added so much and helped everyone relax yet further (for me the most stressful part of the day was over). We really can’t recommend Brian enough and will always remember what he & his playing brought to our wedding day.”
