Brian gave us a super evening, with a well-thought-out programme of classics and some nice popular tunes to complete the mix. Highly recommended.

Thanks Roger. I had a very nice evening with you and your guests for the September Music Club at Fentham Hall. I felt that everyone enjoyed it, and received many positive comments afterwards from members of the audience. I hope to see you again.

A lunch party for 50 guests was enhanced by some beautiful and sensitive playing. Many of the guests were themselves musicians who commented afterwards on the excellent musical selection and the just right level of volume - so much so that Brian's contact details were sought by seveal. A real pleasure to have our gathering enriched by such beautiful guitar playing.

My wife and I are so happy that Brian performed during our wedding day. Brian is such a nice guy, he was very friendly and extremely professional. Our wedding guests very much enjoyed his music selection, and I had a lot of fun talking with him about guitars. We highly recommend working with Brian for any event!

Review of concert on 5th October 2025. It was a real privilege to attend a solo guitar concert given by Brian Perkins at St Bartholomew's Church Penn Wolverhampton. We were treated to a wide-ranging program. The core of any classical guitar concert are the pieces from the Spanish repertoire. We started with Romanza – anon and ended with a Farruca Flamenco. A particular highlight for me was the Prelude 1 by Villa-Lobos. Here we heard Brian Perkins technical skill and musicality at maintaining a beautiful melodic line with right-handed arpeggio accompaniment. There were fun moments with The Girl from Ipanema and the One Note Samba. Take 5 of Dave Brubeck fame and the James Bond theme sounded quite at home on Mr Perkins guitar. The concert ended with a captivating rendition of All I ask of you from the Phantom of the opera as an encore. Rob Smith 8th October 2025

Re Guitar Recital at St Bart's Church last Sunday. Myself, with some friends, thoroughly enjoyed the pieces you played, and the information you gave about the composers of each piece during the concert . Consummate playing as ever. Thanks, George.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

The fact that clients can relax and leave everything in my hands. They like my unruffled friendly approach and my ability to play music that suits the mood at any particular part of the occasion.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Blakelands Country House,. The Midland Institute, Edgbaston Golf Club, Cannon Hill Park, The Town Hall Halifax, Moseley Old Hall, Patshull Park, Pendrell Hall, Hundred House Hotel, Oak Farm Hotel, Hilton Hall, The Moat House, Brocton Hall, Mercure Birmingham, Fairlawns Hotel, Ramada Park Hall, Moor Hall Hotel, Burlington Hotel, Casltle Brom, Bolton Castle.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

John Williams. Brian May.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Recital for the Treasury Music Society in London. On a completely different occasion I had the pleasure of playing at a wedding with Ken Dodd as a family guest We chatted afterwards and he was exceedingly complimentary and down to earth. He spoke eloquently during the reception and was of course brilliantly entertaining.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I understand that timings can change and l can be flexible to accommodate these to ensure that your event runs smoothly.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Breaks are normally short and fill in music is not required. I can offer the use of a mic for speeches, reading or announcements within the contracted hours.

How much time do you need to set up?

I always arrive approximately 1 to 1.5 hours prior to the start to allow time to set up before guests arrive. It's important for me to find the best position to sit and liase with event staff.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Yes you can. You can also ask for specific styles such as just classical or spanish or a mix.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes all equipment is provided. I use my own amplification with a radio mic to my guitar. This offers far greater flexibility with the set up position.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Yes. I have arranged countless pieces at the request of clients. I just need a reasonable amount of time to do this. There is no charge for this. Songs arranged include Isn't She Lovely, Bring Me Sunshine, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Lovely Day, The Wonder Of You, We've Only Just Begun, Africa .....
