As a multi instrumentalist (saxophone, trombone, sousaphone, flute) I wanted to put together a group with all of these instruments in mind. And so the band was formed: a group of players and friends passionate about playing live music without the need of amplification. We can arrange any piece in any style of music, but we specialise in soul, funk, jazz, reggae and calypso. I initially enquired with Brassbound, but ended up booking Ann Marie as a solo act for my 30th Birthday Party. Ann Marie was brilliant on the night, and really got the party started with some upbeat music! By the end of her set she had everyone, including my grandma, up singing and dancing! She was great in the run up to the event, learning a request for me, and responded to all messages really quickly which made organising a breeze. She also managed to deal with a less than ideal situation with the venue on the night by coming prepared for every eventuality. I would definitely book again, although this might need to wait until my 40th!

Brassbound played at my sister’s wedding on 1st Sept and they were FANTASTIC!! Such great music and a real variety with many classics thrown in as well. A really refreshing change from a ‘regular’ wedding band. Would highly recommend but a word or warning - your feet will hurt the next day from all the dancing!

Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

Yes we do. The full band consists of 7-8 members including a drum kit player (trumpets, trombone, saxes, sousaphone), but we can also play with four members with no drum kit and/or to backing tracks for a fuller sound.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes! This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free

How much time do you need to set up?

If not using microphones, up to 40 minutes, mainly for the drum kit player to set up. If performing on a stage with mics, up to one hour.

Can you roam around while you perform?

Yes - we either perform acoustically or with microphones attached to our instruments so we can move around freely.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Absolutely!

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

The most popular request from clients is that we play acoustically and mainly outside, but if a Pa is requested by the client we will include this in our quote.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you if given sufficient time.
