Bethany graduated in 2003 with a degree in music performance and has worked as a freelance performer and teacher ever since. To date, Bethany has had a varied performing career playing with Orchestras across the East Midlands as well as Chamber ensembles and solo engagements. After acting as a deputy cellist for string trios and quartets for several years, Bethany started running Bethany Morris Music in 2014. The aim was to provide high quality music at an affordable price for smaller weddings and functions. Bethany performs as a soloist, using professional backing tracks to accompany. This offers an affordable alternative to hiring a larger ensemble and is perfect for smaller venues and tighter budgets. Over the last couple of years Bethany has played in some of the countries most beautiful Wedding venues including Chatsworth house in Derbyshire, Woburn Abbey in Bedfordshire and Fountains Abbey in North Yorkshire. With a wide choice of repertoire including popular classics as well as jazz, pop covers and film music, Bethany is able to offer the perfect accompaniment to your special day.

Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

I offer solo cello with a choice of either professional backing tracks or live piano to accompany. I work regularly with pianist Jane Olson who provides this service and knows all of my repertoire. This choice offers clients flexibility in their booking when taking into account budget and the space available.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

There is a certain amount of flexibility with every booking. My aim is to make your day run as smoothly as possible. If timings change in the run up to the event then just let me know.

How much time do you need to set up?

I always arrive 40 minutes before the start time to set up and warm up before guests start to arrive.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

A set list and Special requests form are sent out 6 weeks before your booking for you to pick your playlist. You can pick as much or as little as you want and I am always on hand to give advice where needed. If there is a special piece that you would like that isn't on the list then I am always happy to source new material for a booking.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

I carry all the equipment needed for a performance. This includes speakers to play the backing tracks through, a pick up for the cello if needed in larger venues and electric piano if the live piano option is chosen. All electrical equipment is PAT tested and accompanied with a current certificate.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If there is a special song that you would like me to play on the day that is not on my set list then I am happy to source music for the occasion, as long as a suitable arrangement can be found.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

I offer a very personal performance for each of my clients, playing pieces that they have personally selected for the day. I offer a broad range of music to choose from with everything from Classical favourites to Contemporary pieces and pop covers, so there is really something for everyone to enjoy.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I have performed in venues all over the country: Chatsworth house, Woburn Abbey, Stubton Hall, Elsham Hall to name a few.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

I am a classically trained musician but I listen to a broad range of music, Classical, jazz, world, pop, and draw from influences across the board.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I have repeat bookings for the RHS playing at their annual Flower shows.
