Born and bred in Oxford, with a base in London. Ben Watts has been a professional performer in the west end and around the world for 15 years, and has been gigging for even longer. A soulful vocalist and experienced live performer, Ben brings a fresh acoustic, Live Lounge feel to a huge variety of songs, from Beyoncé and Guns N’ Roses to Sam Smith and Simply Red. His repertoire spans decades and genres — from 50s rock ’n’ roll, 70s disco and soul, through 90s Britpop and beyond — with something for every occasion. A huge country music fan, Ben also brings a distinctive country flavour to his sets. If you love Chris Stapleton, Luke Combs and Post Malone, alongside classics from The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Rascal Flatts and Dolly Parton, Ben’s your guy. And if you have a custom playlist or that one that means the world to you Ben can accomodate most requests to make your occasion even more special. Whether it’s a chilled session, wedding, function or full-on party, Ben brings experience, personality and great songs to every performance.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

My decade of experience working in professional theatre, especially improv comedy means I always ensure that we have a great time together and there is always a good sense of banter and fun at my gigs.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

The century Club in London was a particular favourite venue of mine, I have performed at several beautiful venues for weddings and parties. But i have performed in a wide variety of spaces from barns, to theatres, to swanky bars, to cosy pubs. As an actor I have performed all over the world, in arenas and even The Albert Hall.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Chris Stapleton, the Beatles, The Beegees, Bob Dylan, The Temptations, Black Sabbath, Guns and Roses, John Legend, Elvis Presley. A huge variety. I love any music that has a great melody and soulful vocals.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

The Albert hall is probably the most prestigious. I also performed a couple of times in The Cavern in Liverpool when I was University. But like I say, the most special venues I have performed at are the smaller more intimate spaces for weddings and special occasions where you can see the impact it has on your clients.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I will always endeavour to be as flexible as I can. It will depend on the amount of notice I am given and if you require a longer or a shorter set. All can be discussed on a case by case basis.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

This isn't typically something I do but If you send me a set list/ playlist I can organise that for you for free.

How much time do you need to set up?

For sound check and to make sure everything is perfect for your event, between 45minutes to an hour is about right. If You have your own PA system it can take less time.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Absolutely. I encourage you to have a look through and see the songs that appeal to you to ensure I include them but the set lists I provide have been crafted in such a way as to be balanced and create the environment specific to your event - be that chilled acoustic or more upbeat party atmosphere with backing tracks etc.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

I will have my instrument and can provide a mic and PA system but at a slight increase in the price. All can be discussed.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

100% I do have a playlist of songs I believe is very universally popular with a great mix of well-known songs as well as unique songs in my country repertoire, but I can accommodate specific songs for first dances or other special moments in your event.
