Can you perform covers?
We bring disco with us instead of singing covers (we only sing in the shower!) so that we can play all types of requests. With the exception of Irish songs which we can do as a 5-piece 'Celtic-Rock' style band, with singer Stuarty.
Do you have different line-up options?
Yes, our standard line up is fiddle, electric guitar, bass guitar and electric drums, and we all call (give instructions for the dances). We also can perform as a three-piece (without the bass) and as a two-piece 'traditional' ceilidh band with fiddle + acoustic guitar. We add an Irish singer/rhythm guitar for occassions that request this.
What if my timings change after I've booked you?
We always try our best to be flexible to ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible, If things change slightly in the run up to the event, just let us know.
Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?
Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via our PA after our four consecutive hours of entertainment, we privide this for an additonal £25 per half hour.
How much time do you need to set up?
We require one hour to set up and sound check after we have loaded our equipment in. In addition, we require one hour to dismantle afterwards. AS soon as our equipment is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere before the party begins.
Do you provide a caller?
Yes, we all give instructions for our dances using fun-filled banter. This ensures everyone will be able to join in the fun.
Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?
Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event
Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA) included in your quote?
Our PAT-tested PA and lighting system is included in your quote. We usually require a minimum of 4m2 space to perform
Can you learn song requests before the event?
We do not sing, however if you would like a special song for your first dance, if we do not have it in our vast library of music, you can bring a USB stick, an iPad or phone with it, or send us the link on Spotify and we will gladly play it through our system for you.
What do your clients love most about your performances?
We mix up well-known rock riffs amongst the traditional ceilidh tunes, and this catches guests by surprise. You can see the lift in their step when they hear Thunderstruck, or Layla.
Which venues have you performed at in the past?
Too many to mention - lots of castles - Melville, Tullibole, Dalhousie, Dalmahoy, Sherbrooke...hotels; Balmoral, Sheraton, Principle... other places: Royal College of Physicians, Surgeons Hall, Linlithgow Burgh Halls, Comrie Croft. We have the advantage of an electric drumkit - which means we can adjust the volume to meet sound limiter levels too.
Which artists have you been most influenced by?
Shooglenifty, Skerrivore, ACDC, Eric Clapton, Motorhead,
What is the most high profile gig you've performed?
STV 24hr ceilidh for Lorraine Kelly. She was so lovely, as were her crew - even after midnight when she would have been exhausted, she was still bubbly. We loved that gig!
