About Aoife

I'm a recent graduate and experienced musician currently residing in Oxford.
Oboist
Oxford

Aoife began playing the violin aged 8 and promptly joined the High Wycombe Music Centre, where she was awarded a county music scholarship. This allowed her to take up a second study - oboe - which has since become her main instrument. She was the winner of the woodwind category at several music festivals, including those in Marlow, Maidenhead and the Wycombe Orpheus Young Musician Competition, and played with the Buckinghamshire County Youth Orchestra, the Hertfordshire County Youth Orchestra, and the English Schools Orchestra. Once at Oxford, Aoife did far more music than Geography, playing with the University Orchestra, Sinfonietta, Wind Orchestra and several other small groups. She also developed a love of singing, holding a choral scholarship at St Peter's college from 2014-2016. She is currently a member of Commotio, and a lay clerk at the chapel of Pusey House.
