Since becoming a finalist for the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year Competition 2018, North East singer / songwriter Amy has continued to carve her name on the Scottish folk scene. Amy has toured in Canada, America, Ireland and Germany. Having performed numerous times on BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Proms in the Park and played keys for Glasvegas on Roddy Hart’s BBC Quay Sessions to name a few, Amy’s album ‘Read Me Write’ will be released this coming September. Classically trained in all three instruments throughout her school years, shortly after taking up the violin in second year of High School, Amy found a love for folk music and joined the local Strathspey Fiddlers. She then moved to Aberdeen where she gained her BMus Ed Music Teaching Degree from the University of Aberdeen and followed on to complete a Masters in Scottish Music from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2018.

Massive thank you to Amy for playing the most amazing set during our wedding ceremony. Don't be fooled by her trad roots, she is equally as awesome when it comes to jazzing up modern songs or putting her own twist on your requests. We trusted Amy to do whatever she wanted with our song choices and each song was more amazing than the one before. Thank you Amy!! We will be stalking you at future gigs and all the best with the album launch!

Amy’s performance at our wedding ceremony was fantastic. All of our guests commented upon how truly amazing she was. Amy made our day extra special. Amy also created a wonderful atmosphere on our train journey back to our reception where she played keyboard and sang.
