Amit Sumal

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, I was introduced into the world of music at a very young age by my father. I commenced my formal training on the Piano at the age of 6 followed by the Violin and Tabla's (Indian percussion instrument) a few years later. Post my studies I went to India where I studied Classical Indian Vocal singing and a rare instrument called the Sarod. Though classically trained I sing more romantic Bollywood Style songs - most of my gigs tend to be Weddings where I take my white portable grand piano along with me. I am very happy to travel up and down the country, If I'm on my own I will usually mix my performance with a few unplugged songs just myself singing on the piano. The rest of my set(s) will be me singing to backing tracks.
