Alyse & Clancy are an exciting Australian flute and guitar duet. The pair both have diverse performance careers as soloists and chamber musicians.
Alyse Faith is an award-winning flautist in her final year of a Masters degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London. She performs with the Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra, Academy Opera Orchestra and has also performed with the Australian International Opera Company Orchestra. Alyse was the winner of the Young Artist of Flutes in Tuscany Award earlier this year and the prestigious Leslie Barlamb Flute Prize in 2018. Alyse loves playing flute and guitar music and enjoys exploring music for the combination.
Clancy McLeod is “a captivating, expressive and very musical” guitarist and a gifted performer. Clancy's early life in the evocative desert town Alice Springs of central Australia has inspired him to pursue an active performing career in Australia and abroad. He is currently based in London as a freelancing soloist and chamber musician. In 2018, Clancy reached the finals of the Adelaide International Guitar Competition and the Melbourne International Guitar Competition and was the second-prize winner of the 3MBS Fine Music Melbourne ‘The Talent' radio competition. Clancy also was a place-winner in the final of the multi-instrumental London Strings Competition in 2018.
Alyse & Clancy was established in 2017 at the University of Melbourne, Melbourne Conservatorium of Music in Australia by Alyse and Clancy during their undergraduate studies. Since then, the duet have performed concerts in Melbourne and Sydney as well as in the UK. This year, Alyse & Clancy are looking forward to premiering new works by young composers.
