I've been playing harp since the turn of the millennium, and playing at weddings and events since 2006. For many years I was the lead singer in a metal band called, Ascent, and then a folk rock band called Eve & The Garden. I also run an all-female voice choir called nChant. My first love is metal, so you can find me on my gloss black electric harp playing lots of rock covers, as well as TV, film and gaming music. Anything geeky & Disney! But I also love folk music and jazz classics. But most important is the fact that this is your event, so for weddings and similar events, we work together to create your ideal playlist. For the ceremony I invite you to an online Open Harp Surgery, where we go through the ceremony music.

We had the absolute pleasure of having Alison play at our wedding last Thursday. We first saw her at an alt wedding fair and knew we had to have her as part of our day! From the start communication was great! We had our own portal on her website and we got to choose either songs from her repertoire or we could have an new song for her to learn, she then uploaded all our choices onto our portal so we could see it come to life. We had a final zoom call with her to finalise timings and everything for the day. And on the day she was incredible! We had our ceremony outside and it was so beautiful to hear her music travel around the ceremony space, we were able to tweak the songs to fit the timings for our aisle walk and she played the songs so beautifully we were both brought to tears, Allison we can’t thank you enough for your beautiful music on our special day. Alison performed at our Wedding Ceremony and Reception and is an exceptional talent. She travelled all the way from Solihull to Kent for us, on special request, and we would highly recommend her for any special occasion where beautiful music is required. ;-)

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Where possible I aim to be flexible, so, if things change, just get in touch and we can sort things out accordingly.

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually prefer 1.5 hours to be fully set up and ready to go in plenty of time, although I do realise this is not always possible. If you require me to play some music through my system once I am set up before I start playing, do let me know, and I can create a playlist for you.

Is the transport of your harp included in your quote?

All travel costs will be included in the quotes that I send you.

Do you need any equipment provided to play outdoors?

If I am playing outdoors then I can be self-sufficient with my power bank, if there is no access to power. Inclement weather is no good for my instrument and other electronic equipment, so I would need full cover, or to move indoors to play.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Weddings Only: You choose 100% of the music from my database "The Harpinator", to which I will send you a link once your booking is confirmed. * Any pieces from my "Regular" status songs. * A maximum of 5 from the "Requested" status. * A maximum of 2 from the "Advanced Notice" status. Non-Wedding Events: You can make general genre requests.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Weddings Only: Yes, depending on the package or timing that you book, you can add between 1 -3 new pieces of music onto my playlist for your event. Non-Wedding Events: I will consider learning a new piece if you have something in mind, but this is not a guaranteed service.
