About Alice

An elegant Jazz Singer who accompanies herself on acoustic guitar creating a vintage and sultry atmosphere at any event.
Singing guitarist
Rowland's Castle
Public liability insurance of £10 million

Alice provides smooth vocals and warm acoustic tones to create the perfect intimate and relaxed atmosphere at events along the south coast of the UK. She specialises in jazz standards and easy listening pop songs, and offers bespoke set lists for events. From Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Nat King Cole to soft covers of Adele, Elvis and current popular artists, Alice has a versatile repertoire to capture the theme and energy of your event. Alice first discovered jazz in her teens and was captured by the voices of Sarah Vaughan and Billie Holiday. She went on to study music A-Level and Undergraduate Degree focusing on vocals as well as band leading and composition. During this time, Alice also improved her guitar proficiency to enable her to better accompany herself. She Joined The National Youth Jazz Orchestra Academy in 2018, studying with them for 4 years until she earned her place a vocalist with the professional Orchestra. Since 2022 she has performed all over the country touring with NYJO and Tommy Blaze (Strictly Come Dancing Vocalist) and Headlined a sold out Ronnie Scotts Show. Other notable performances with NYJO include The Royal Albert Hall, Grosvenor Square and Vortex Jazz Club London. During Covid, Alice completed a masters in Jazz Vocals at Chichester conservatoire, focusing on improvisation. She will often ‘scat’ during a solo guitar performance to add another level to the music. Much like a saxophonist would improvise, Alice captures a free and mellow sound with her improvisational skills. Since Covid she has focused on creating a self contained jazz act to showcase her sultry voice and highlight her guitar skills. She regularly performs at private parties, drinks receptions, corporate events, restaurants, bars, jazz clubs and weddings in the Hampshire, Surrey, Dorset and West Sussex Areas. A regular on the south’s music scene, Alice often fronts jazz bands at festivals and venues including sold out shows in jazz clubs and cocktail bars. With 10 years of professional performance experience and a passion for jazz, Alice will be sure to leave a lasting impression at your event.

I wanted to say how much your beautiful singing (including a good sprinkling of my requests) meant to me. You made my birthday that much more special.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

My clients are happy with the versatility of my sets. From jazz standards for those who like jazz but don't know lots of songs (these set lists always engage the listener with hits they're familiar with) to jazz covers of popular songs which keep the listener on their toes trying to name the song whilst knowing the lyric!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

The Royal Albert Hall - London Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club - London Pizza Express Jazz Club - London Vortex Jazz Club - London The Concorde Club - Eastleigh Southsea Jazz Club Spinaker Tower - Portsmouth Chenies Manor House - Buckinghamshire Hestercombe House - Somerset Greylingwell Chapel - Chichester

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

As a jazz, I have been most influenced by Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Nancy Wilson. As a singer/guitarist, I often emulate a similar vibe to Katie Melua, Madeline Peyroux and the style of Post Modern Jukebox.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I performed at The Royal Albert Hall infront of 6000 audience members and a 6 million tv audience.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I will always ensure I can be as flexible as possible to help ensure your event runs smoothly so if timings do change I will adjust my performances accordingly.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I can provide iPod/playlist background music for your event using my PA system for free between my performance sets.

How much time do you need to set up?

I will need 1 hour to set up before performance time. As soon as the PA is up and running I can provide iPod/playlist background music to set the atmosphere.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

You can choose the specific songs from my repertoire list and you can also request 1 extra song not on the list for me to perform. You will need to decide the set list at least 2 weeks before your event and I am happy to chat about what will sound best for your event. Alternatively I can create a custom set list for your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

I will provide all the equipment needed for my performance.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

You can request one song that is not on my repertoire list for no additional cost. If you would like anymore requests not on my list I'm happy to learn at an additional cost of £10 per song.
