Alex is a former organ scholar of both St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle and St John's College, Cambridge. He's a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists and in high demand as a piano accompanist. He is a music student at the University of Cambridge and has performed as a soloist in cathedrals across the country. Recent projects have included directing two Baroque operas in Cambridge from the harpsichord and accompanying the complete songs of Gerald Finzi with nine different singers. Alex plays the organ for weddings, funerals, baptisms, marriage blessings, memorials, carol services and all sorts of other special services. He has a wide-ranging repertoire and is always excited to learn new music from any genre! He's an excellent sight-reader and willing to play at short notice. Alex is a keen believer in the power of amateur and youth music, and is heavily involved in the management of many local groups in his home county of Kent. Before leaving school, he had raised over £7,000 for various charities by organising concerts, and has volunteered his time in several primary schools to inspire musicians of the future. If you have any questions, or are unsure about anything, feel free to get in touch.

Good afternoon Alex, I wanted to send you a quick email to wholeheartedly thank you for your tremendous playing at our wedding - and to say I loved that having truncated the Wagner to a manageable length, itself no mean feat, you still took it all the way up to the big finish. It was the perfect accompaniment to the most important moment of our lives (so far). Both of us send our deepest thanks and very best wishes for the future, Tom

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

No problem, but please let me know changes ASAP and I will do my best to accommodate them.

How much time do you need to set up?

Not long at all - just a few minutes.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Pick whatever you like! I appreciate that you may want some music that isn't on the list - please do get in touch if that is the case. I'm always delighted to learn new music. I'm a good sight-reader and can often learn difficult music at short notice if necessary.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

This is usually not necessary as an organist! If you've asked for piano music and a piano is not available, I may be able to bring a digital for a small extra fee - do get in touch to ask about this.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Yes, of course! If there's any music you'd like for your event I'd be delighted to learn it for you - just let me know.
