Born and raised in Leeds, Aimée is a Birmingham based Soprano currently in her fourth and final year of undergraduate study at the Birmingham Conservatoire, under the tuition of soprano Maureen Brathwaite; with regular coaching from Robin Bowman, Simon Nicholls, Robert Markham, Stephen Barlow, Michael Barry and jazz tutor Sara Colman. Aimée recently took part in an ERASMUS exchange where she spent a term studying bel canto and Italian arias intensively under the tuition of mezzo-soprano Daniela Broganelli and renowned accompanist and language coach Ubaldo Fabbri at the Conservatorio di G. Rossini in Pesaro, Italy performing at many different venues in and around the Marche region, including the Teatro della Fortuna, Monte Maggiore and as a soloist for the Circolo Bianchini and Lion’s winter fundraiser. Onstage Aimée has performed the roles of Cathleen (Riders to the Sea, Vaughan Williams), Musetta (La Boheme, Puccini), Belinda (Dido and Aeneas, Purcell), Diane (Actéon, Charpentier), Javotte (Manon, Massenet), Medium 1 (The Poisoned Kiss, Vaughan Williams) and Larina (Eugene Onegin, Tchaikovsky), Petra (A Little Night Music, Sondheim) and most recently in a new musical as Susan (Title of Show, Bowen & Bell) with the [Untitled] theatre company, amongst a variety of different chorus roles performed with companies such as Leeds Youth Opera, Welsh National Youth Opera, British Youth Opera and the Athena Opera Company. Alongside her strong love for classical and operatic singing, Aimée regularly performs with various jazz ensembles including the Leeds Youth Jazz Rock Orchestra, Birmingham Conservatoire Composers Big Band, Alex Astbury Quintet and the Birmingham Conservatoire Jazz Orchestra, having recently taken part in a workshop with celebrated composer Maria Schneider at Birmingham Town Hall. Aimée is looking forward to continuing her studies at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest where she has gained the Joseph Weingarten scholarship.
