The Rhythm and Blues Revue is an experienced Bristol based band led by Adam Holgate performing 60's and 70's Blues and Soul with male led vocals and guitar. They also cover a number of modern tracks in this style. The band has performed as a trio numerous times at many UK festivals including Glastonbury, Boomtown, Shambala, Bestival, Cambridge Folk Festival, Green Man Festival, Stanton Calling, Secret Garden Party, Kendall Calling, How the light Gets In, etc. They are experienced at performing at weddings and corporate functions and pride ourselves on our professionally and ability to entertain the audience. They can provide full PA and backline and DJ sets of similar music if needed. Influences are diverse, including Little Richard, Otis Reading, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, James Brown, The Beatles, Arctic Monkeys, Lou Donaldson, Cannonball Adderly, Joe Cocker, Jimi Hendrix, Kenny Burrell to name a few. The band normally run a trio format with male vocals / guitar, drums, and bass. They can accommodate requests for additional instruments including: 2nd Male vocalist with guitar; Hammond organ; Saxophone; Female lead vocals. Musical Experience: We have performed as a trio / quartet at many gigs across the UK including Festival like Glastonbury, Boomtown, Shambala, How the Light Gets in, Bestival, Green Man, Colne Blues Festival, Cambridge Folk Festival and many others.
 We have also played regular wedding and corporate events. Adam is a primarily a guitarist and songwriter with Hannah Williams and The Affirmations. He has played on their albums 'Late Nights and Heartbreaks' and '50ft Woman'. They were sampled by Jay Z on "4.44", the title track of his most recent album. The original is "Late Nights and Heartbreaks." Touring experience from hundreds of gigs across the UK, Europe and Internationally from 2014 till present. In 2017 -2019 Hannah Williams and The Affirmations played a number of big stages at festivals worldwide. They headlined the Montreal Jazz Festival Main Stage; played at New York Central Park Summer Stage, North Sea Jazz Festival, Blue Note in Japan, Fusion Festival in Germany, Down the Rabbit Hole in the Netherlands and many others. Adam was also the bassist with Ephemerals from 2014 to 2019 playing on the albums 'Chasing Ghosts', 'Eggtooth' and 'The Third Eye'. Ephemerals extensively toured around Europe and the UK from 2014 to 2019. Adam also played many UK festivals and shows as songwriter, bassist and backing vocals for BOMBS from 2011 to 2018. Adam was born and raised primarily in the Orkney Islands. He graduated with an MA Philosophy from St Andrews in 2008.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We are very flexible on the day as long as we have some notice, just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, I have an excellent playlist on Spotify featuring lots of awesome Blues, Soul and Jazz. Free in between sets, or £50 per hour after we play till the night ends.

How much time do you need to set up?

1 Hour if PA provided 2.5 Hours if PA required which we can provide

Can you roam around while you perform?

If performing solo, yes. I have a decent battery powered amp.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes of course, and if you have any songs you would like us to play we will try and accommodate (eg. 1st dance at a wedding.) We can learn one song for free, after this it's £30 per song.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes, we can provide a full PA sound system. We can also provide lighting if requested.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes of course, happy to learn one song for free. Absolutely no Phil Collins! After that it's £30 per song for us to learn.

Adam performed as part of the People's Front Room at How the Light Get's in Festival in 2022. His sets were excellent and engaging, and had the audience on side from the first song. Amazing live band!
