Acoustic singer-songwriter and choral singer, based in Cambridge and London, with a wide repertoire of covers for functions and events
Zoe sang with my semi chorus and Amateur Choir at my concert December 2015. She has a very good Alto voice, knew the repertoire and blended in with my choristers. It was a pleasure to have Zoe help us out.
Choral singer: I am a choral scholar in the Choir of Christ's College Cambridge, a member of the Cambridge University Chamber Choir, and an alumnus of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and London-based Rodolfus choir. As well as singing in large-scale choral works at venues such as the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Royal Albert Hall (as part of the Proms) and Snape Maltings, I also enjoy performing with smaller ensembles; at university in Cambridge I sing with early music ensembles Quinto and Magdalena, as well as Novaura, a choir specialising in new compositions. Functions and Events: I am at home singing in a pop, jazz or folk style, and am an official London Underground Busker, playing regularly for hundreds of commuters in various genres . As well as entertaining large crowds at festivals (including Stage 2 of Cambridge Folk Festival, and Standon Calling), I have experience playing at garden parties and prestigious Cambridge May Balls, including Jesus, Sidney Sussex, and Christ's Colleges. This year I performed at the launch party for John's May Ball and am booked to perform both at John's (voted 7th best party in the world) and Trinity May Balls. Singer-songwriter (stage name Zoë Wren): Zoë Wren is an acoustic singer-songwriter from Camden, combining traditional and modern folk styles with rock and pop influences. She has supported various artists including Peter Knight’s Gigspanner at Cambridge Folk Club and Jim Causley at Hitchin Folk Club, as a result of winning the Best Newcomer award at Folkstock's Love Folk Live Awards, and has performed at various festivals, including the Festival Session at Cambridge Folk Festival, as well as Standon Calling and Folkstock. Zoë's EP 'Pandora's Box' was released with Folkstock Records, and she has since released the single 'Nothing to See', which received airplay on BBC Radio 2. Zoë is currently working on recording her second EP.
