Two Blue Jazz is a Wirral Merseyside-based duo playing Jazz standards and a varied program of instrumental music including pop artists like Sting, Stevie Wonder, and Bacharach. We provide background music for restaurants, weddings, functions, birthdays, tea dances, receptions etc. The duo comprises a jazz/classical guitarist and a woodwind player who plays alto and soprano saxophone, clarinet and flute. We have been playing regularly for the last 2 years in Chester at the Neighbourhood BakeHouse kitchen Jazz Nights. We can also provide some classical music choices for wedding ceremonies. Our aim is to add ambience to your event with a varied program of instrumental music. We play jazz standards, Latin jazz, the odd French tune, movie theme or classical guitar solo and also the music of pop artists who lend themselves to jazz interpretation. For larger events, we can play as a full Jazz Band, double bass, sax, piano or guitar, drums and vocalist or as a jazz trio. Our duo is covered with public liability insurance and our equipment has a PAT Test Certificate. (Please note the duo option is purely instrumental) Prices are negotiable depending on the size of the band, location of the venue, performance times, PA requirements etc. Our Sax Player John Padfield is a music graduate of the University of Birmingham, John studied clarinet with Colin Parr. In the field of classical music, John has worked with the Northern Wind Orchestra, National Concert Orchestra and British Clarinet Ensemble. As a jazz saxophonist/clarinettist, John has been privileged to work with touring British musicians including Alan Barnes and Pete Carter, and international stars including the American altoist Greg Abate and Australian multi-instrumentalist James Morrison. A committed educator, John has directed the Liverpool Youth Jazz Orchestra from its inception in 1995. On guitar, Paul McRae is a classical/jazz guitarist and double bass player with many years of experience playing in both small trios and big bands on guitar and bass and solo guitar in restaurants We have been playing regularly for the last 2 years in Chester at the Neighbourhood BakeHouse kitchen Jazz Nights. Paul and Two Blue Jazz played during the drinks reception at our wedding. They created the perfect atmosphere with their playing, and in particular we really appreciated the various instruments they were able to play! It was the perfect fit for a "grown up" black tie wedding and we've received plenty of compliments from our guests. They were incredibly easy to work with and I'd recommend them for any event - I'd certainly contact them again should an occasion arise. Thanks Paul! (10 / 10) Ruth

Wonderful, professional musicians, who set exactly the right tone for our Afternoon AGM. They played non-stop before and after, even doing requests, so I would recommend this flexible musical troupe (we initially asked for a duo, then they accommodated our request to provide a trio) to anyone who wants to have an upbeat, varied programme of music, played beautifully.
