(Aside from video in Media, we also have audio that you can listen to) Trio Grand comprises three of the North East's finest musicians. With many years collective music experience under their belts, Trio Grand comprises Georg Voros on drums and vocals, Paul Carter on bass and vocals, completed by Barbara Wilcox on piano and vocals, We are a completely self-contained unit and can accommodate most small to medium size function rooms, including an outdoor setup by arrangement. Our sound is versatile! Perfectly tailored for a pre-event occasion requiring low key, sophisticated background music while guests socialise and sip their cocktails, to a more upbeat experience suitable for a dinner/dance function where a cool alternative to a Pop function band is preferred. We can also provide recorded background music in between our live music sets, guaranteeing a seamless flow of great entertainment. Our ever-expanding repertoire list highlights a mix of vocal and instrumental easy listening Jazz standards, to smoky Blues, to contemporary hit songs. Whatever the function, Trio Grand is guaranteed to get your foot tapping. Georg has worked with an award-winning band and recorded on an album nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize award. Georg's extensive function band experience has seen him perform at all manner of occasions that includes being the touring drummer for the hit TV show ‘Stars In Their Eyes’. A classically trained pianist, Barbara has played and sung in bands covering a range of styles. Jazz and soul music are her passions and she is excited to bring a vibrant and sophisticated musical experience to your event. With a background in commercial music and recording, Paul has regularly performed a wide variety of musical styles and disciplines on both bass and guitar. Having discovered the joys of Jazz and Fusion in recent years, he brings all these skills together as part of a tight and exciting rhythm section. If you require a band that extends beyond the traditional Jazz standards format, then look no further than Trio Grand to provide a memorable and professional musical experience for your special function. The Soundroom was nominated as a Late Shows venue for the first time this year, and we decided that Trio Grand would make a great headline act to promote us. We chose them for their great mix of well known songs, and the fact that there was something for everyone to like. They helped us make it a great night, and they proved to be a real hit.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Clients frequently mention that they love our enjoyable and varied repertoire delivered to the highest standard. In creating an elegant and unobtrusive atmosphere, our goal is always to offer an unforgettable experience, which has been validated by many times by the comments we have heard from our audience.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Trio Grand is a relatively new unit and venues performed at include The Soundroom in Gateshead where our performance headlined Late Shows 2024 - an award winning UK cultural event. Individually, we have performed at prestigious UK venues that include The Forum, (London), Theatre Royal (Norwich) an appearance on Yorkshire TV for Children In Need.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

The Soundroom in Gateshead where our performance headlined Late Shows 2024 - an award winning UK cultural event.

Do you have different line-up options?

“Our standard line-up is as follows: Drums, Keys and Bass all with Vocals. We also have a 4 piece option that includes Sax.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

“We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.”

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we offer this service for free. The we can supply is similar in style to our live sets. If you'd like the music to carry on after our final live set we can provide an extra hour of piped music for an additional £100.

How much time do you need to set up?

"We usually require about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time depending on accessibility into the venue. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance."

Can you roam around while you perform?

While we would love to be able to offer this option, once set up this is not possible due to the nature of our instrumentation.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our varied set lists are crafted to ensure guests can enjoy a popular blend of recognizable vocal and instrumental standards including interesting pieces of music that are fresh and pleasing on the ear. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA sound system is included in your quote. We usually require a minimum 3m by 2.5m space to perform.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account rehearsal times, etc
