Hey everyone ! Why choose us? Good question well one good reason is we actually perform ! There are many great bands iut there that sound great but they’re site readers. How can possibly feel the music doing that? There are no props or gadgets with us! We play fron the heart! MEET THE BAND Stevie Watts - is an award winning keyboard player playing with Jack Bruce, PP Arnold, Sam Moore (Sam & Dave !)Lulu, Kiki Dee, Secret Affair, Steve Winwood, Arthur Brown,Mary Coughlan, Roland Gift, James Maddock, Lisa Mann, Ronnie Scott's Blues Explosion, Archive, Terry Hall and has supported bands such as Duran Duran on arena tours. Rocco Webb - has played his ‘60 vintage drums live onstage with artists including Amy Winehouse, Cerys Matthews, Backbeat Beatles and was signed to Kaiser Chiefs’ record label. Proud to be a founder member of ‘The Word’ band. Nick Bird - Mercury prize nominee, and published songwriter. Nick has played tours all over Europe with his work with the Bootleg Beatles, and performing with Pete Best Amongst othersjohn Brosnan - A massively talented multi instrumentalist ,and session player working with Ken Nelson, Coldplay"s producer, and has toured with Blondie and Elvis Costello He has also been wowing crowds with his work in the international show ‘Let it Be’ and is a massive Queen ELO and Beatles fan We all sing vocals which makes the sound sensational! Andy Charles has been a professional Musician for 15 years, performing live and recording with various artists in the studio. His live performances have ranged from pubs, clubs and functions, to the likes of the Isle of Wight Festival and Bestival, as well as hundreds of shows aboard different cruise ships.

I cannot recommend The Word highly enough! 10/10 on every aspect. The theme for our gig was 'A Dance through the Decades' before an audience of 30-somethings through to 60-somethings. Nick, Rocco, and Andy seriously delivered on our theme, and these three (really nice) guys brilliantly played songs from some of the most iconic (four piece) bands of the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s. One of the reasons I booked them was the incredibly wide range of their song list, and I was absolutely delighted with the band's flexibility in allowing me to choose the set lists that I knew would get the audience going (which they did in fine style). Communications through Nick were excellent through from initial booking to the event itself. These guys obviously love the music they are playing, and that came over to the audience, many of whom went up to the band after each set to thank them personally. The Word are seriously professional, and, looking at other similar bands on Encore, they also provide excellent value for money!!

Booked the guys for my 50th and they were FANTASTIC! Brilliant set list, pretty much the story of my life, and they seemed to play for ages. Great attention to detail and everybody loved them, had an amazing response from my guests. Thanks guys, it's the kind of party I always wanted to remember xx

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Yes! We strive to make sure the line-up you see is what you get on the night. We do have pre-audititioned 'dep' musicians available in case a band member falls ill or is unavailable. As a professional band our reputation means everything so you can be confident that all of our players are of a very high level.”

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.”
