Based in Cardiff but willing to travel The Trends have performed at events in over 40 countries, the band come fully self-contained with high quality PA system, lighting and DJ playlist service between and after live sets, the band will even learn your first dance song to perform live on the day! I feel very sad to say we weren't left satisfied with the overall performance we received from the band. Tom was brilliant beforehand with communication so I can't fault that. We understood you had issues with the venue's PA system but we were left in silence with no music for so long while you discussed it and we had to wait so long to have our first dance. You were very good once you were on but again we were disappointed that you weren't on for very long at all and we had comments from our guests that said the same. We just feel disappointed as it was our special day that we can't recreate and the party was the main part of the day for us and it let us down somewhat considering how much we paid for the band. Thanks

Hi Rachel, I’m sorry to hear that you weren’t totally blown away with our performance as our clients always are! Unfortunately we have to insist that this was the failings of the venue rather than the band, neither them or yourselves informed us that a new PA system had been installed just the day before our performance, not only was the venue unable to properly use this system but it’s position meant the sound was unusable, the band were not allowed to use their own equipment and live drums but had to use the venues equipment which was a curveball as we were not informed of this before our arrival. We’re really sorry that this added to the problem on the day and I’m sure you were unaware of the venues rules, including the cut off at 11:30pm despite us being booked until 12 midnight, however we did the best we could with the rules they set and we suggest that if you decide to hire a live band in the future that you check with the venue their restrictions and inform the band also. We wish you the best and hope that there are no hard feelings. Best wishes, -Tom & all the band

What do your clients love most about your performances?

The energy the band bring to the party or event, we strive to be a show and not just another cover band, we mix things up and stay unexpected by steering away from the usual songs in favour of those ones that make you go "oh yeah! this is a banger! I'd forgotten all about this one".

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

The list is endless... far too many to count, although we do have a google map with all our pins dotted all over the globe, contact us if you'd like to see it.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

The simple answer is... popular music from the 60's onwards, again the list would be never ending, we particularly like anything funky but we are not limited with our influences to any specific genre.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

We've performed at a lot of high profile international events, one of our favourite groups to work with is Celebrity Cruises.

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

We strive to make sure the line-up you see is what you get on the night. We do have pre-audititioned 'dep' musicians available in case a band member falls ill or is unavailable. As a professional band our reputation means everything so you can be confident that all of our players are of a very high level.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our base line-up is as follows: Standard 4 piece: Lead Vocals, Guitar, Bass & Drums. We also have extra musicians available such as Sax, Trumpet, Percussion & Additional Vocalists!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. Included in Wedding bookings we offer this service for free up to the last band set (11pm latest). If you'd like a DJ service via our PA after the final set until the venue closes, we provide DJ set options starting from £300

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

We don’t usually write a set in advance, much like a great DJ we change set lists on the fly and performances are crafted from countless events & learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA and basic lighting system is included in your quote. We usually require a minimum of 3mx4m space to perform. Additional PRO party lighting hire packages are also available starting from £250

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. For weddings we will learn a first dance free of charge, for all other requests there is a fee of £150 for this service to take into account rehearsal time outside of our schedule.
