The Silver Keys is a dynamic multi-national clarinet quartet based in Scotland. The four original members met in 2018 when they were all students at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under the tutelage of John Cushing. Building on the variety of their individual backgrounds (Scottish-American, English, Lithuanian, and Polish), the Silver Keys are passionate about exploring the rich traditions of music from all over the world and sharing its transformative power with all kinds of audiences in all kinds of settings. They were a recipient of the Scotland on Tour 2022-2023 Fund from which they got to perform in further afield places such as Skye and Portmahomack. The Silver Keys is represented by Classical Musicians Scotland and are proud to be on the Live Music Now Scotland scheme for emerging artists.

"Thank you and the rest of the players for a wonderful evening of music. When you started playing I could hear people behind me whispering in a kind of awed surprise... 'Oh...' 'Wonderful' 'Wow' 'Fabulous' and I confess I was saying the same. It's the first time I have heard a live clarinet quartet and I was thrilled and elated. So you had a huge impact as ambassadors for the clarinet, and I did feel, with others, that half a concert was too short!!"

Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

Yes, it is possible to book us as a trio of duo depending on your event specifications.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Just let us know and we'll always do our best to accommodate!

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, we have a PA which we can provide for an additional £100.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually like to arrive 45 minutes to an hour before playing in order to set up.

Can you roam around while you perform?

It is possible for us to provide a memorised set list with a 'flash-mob' feel - do enquire about this if you are interested!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

We're happy to receive song/piece requests before the event and will do our best to accommodate. If it's not on our set list already, please feel free to ask!

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

We need very little equipment to perform: we provide our instruments and our music stands, so all we will need from the venue is 4 chairs and adequate space to set up. PA can be provided for an addition £100 if you would like a DJ set between playing sets.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes absolutely - just get in touch with your requests and we'll do our best to fulfil as many as possible! If there is a unique song or piece for your event that will need a bespoke arrangement, there is a fee of £30, but we will always let you know if there will be a charge for a request before going ahead.
