About D'Vine

Bringing Some of the finest Steel Pan Music to your event. From Calypso to Classics. Ska to Soul. World beats to Pop beats. You'll Love it!
Steel Drummer
Braintree
Public liability insurance of £10 million

Having predominantly worked as a Steel Pan musician all my professional life, I am seeking opportunities where I can utilise my playing skills and experience, whilst continuing to develop. I love undertaking new musical challenges and relish every opportunity to promote and execute both traditional and non-traditional Steel Pan entertainment. I have been entertaining audiences nationally and internationally for over 30 years. In that time I have built a massive repertoire that spans nearly every genre of music and most timelines. I easily build rapport and effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, and audiences. I have always, and will continue to excite, unite and delight, by going that extra mile for everyone I am fortunate enough to perform for.

Either My first solo piece in the royal festival hall or at the 1991 Steelband Panorama competition in the Queens Park Savannah With Phase 2 Pan Groove.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try my best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let me know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and I actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via my PA after the final set until the venue closes, we provide this for an additional £100 per hour.

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

My set list is crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, I'm definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, absolutely!

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If a song isn't included in my song list there may still be a chance I already know it. If there is a special song you'd like me to learn I am happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £50 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc.

This is the 3rd time now I’ve hired Mr Vine. He plays music for everyone. Not just Calypso and reggae, we also danced to some of our favourite Bollywood songs and even my beloved Mauritian Sega. See you next year Shai.
