Two energetic professional cellists enjoy performing together with authentic taste. We are both members of 2018/ 2019 Southbank Sinfonia.

Idlir and Melody both graduated from Royal College of Music, few years later, they both joint Southbank Sinfonia to persuade a career as chamber and orchestral musicians. Both of them have similar musical belief and ideas and enjoy to perform music in the most authentic way possible. Idlir Shyti has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Sudwestdeutsche Kammerorchester, the Orchestra del Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia, the New Philharmonic Orchestra Tirana, collaborating with conductors such as Giovanni Pelliccia, Silvia Massarelli, Hannes Kramer. He has performed in venues such as the Palazzo Barberini in Rome, Red Hall in Pristina, Charlton House and V&A Museum in London and Salle Cortot in Paris amongst many others. Idlir has also performed in festivals such as the Rome Chamber Music Festival, Different Trains Festival, the Festival Atlante Sonoro, the Festival Musica a Roma per Roma in Italy, the Rutesheim Cello Academy in Germany and the Cello Biennale in Netherlands. Competition success includes First Prize at the International Competition Mozartiana 2006, receiving the ‘Il Portico d’Argento’ in 2012 and ‘Adriana Gianuzzi’ Awards in 2013. Melody Lin is dedicated to the the insightful, sensitive and enthusiastic performance of both solo and chamber music. Melody’s recent solo recitals include the St-Martin-in-the-fields, Wolfson College of Cambridge University, St James’s Piccadilly and at the London Cello Society’s “Go Cello!” opening concert. Melody has been awarded a joint winner at the Vera Kantrovitch Competition and, with pianist Andrea Emanuele, winner at the The Leonard Smith & Felicity Young Duo Competition 2018. Her chamber projects include the Mellanie Piano Trio, supported by the Concordia Foundation and the Melart Duo, with pianist Artur Haftman, supported by the Polish Music Society and toured Poland in 2016.
