The Ripieno Players are the cream of the crop

The highlight was 16-year-old Sophie Cheng's bravura performance of Tchaikovsky's 'Rococo' Variations. Even by the standards of the evening, this was astonishing playing from such a young soloist: bright, brilliant, sweet-toned, and pretty-much note perfect, even in Tchaikovsky's most extravagant flights.
