Smoke & Honey is a sophisticated and versatile jazz band based in Manchester. They perform at corporate events, weddings, bars/restaurants/hotels and private functions throughout the North-West and all over the UK, most recently at The Belfry Hotel & Resort, The Trafford Centre’s Christmas VIP Launch Event 2023, and Matt & Phred’s Jazz Club, Manchester. The group comprises a number of world-class professional musicians and boasts a vast repertoire of music, from timeless classics by Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Nina Simone, to wider genres such as soul, rhythm & blues, rock and roll, and jazz-pop, featuring artists such as Norah Jones, Dusty Springfield, B. B. King, Aretha Franklin, Carole King, Eva Cassidy, Lianne La Havas, Ray Charles and many more. They were amazing! When ever we needed to get in contact with them before the wedding it was really easy to sort. Also on the day they were amazing and so professional and talented. Everyone at the wedding were saying how much of a nice vibe they created for the arrival of guests before the ceremony and drinks reception. Highly recommend!!

Customer questions

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We've performed at Matt & Phred's, Albert Schloss, Blues Kitchen, Bridgewater Hall, and various other of the top venues across the North-West.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

We all love performing jazz standards and love Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, etc., but we also adore the more modern side of jazz, like Norah Jones and Eva Cassidy's blues album.

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

We strive to make sure the line-up you see is what you get on the night. We do have pre-auditioned 'dep' musicians available in case another band member falls ill or is unavailable, however, Sara Leanne will almost certainly be on every gig, and you will be informed if this isn't the case.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our line-up is as follows: Vocals, Piano, Drums, Bass. We also have a 5-piece option that includes Sax, or 6-piece that includes Sax and Guitar.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event, just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via our PA after the final set until the venue closes, we provide this for an additional £100.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes! We provide a good-quality PA for all events.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We’re more than happy to perform up to 3 song requests for you at no extra cost, no problem! We also have a wide range of repertoire tried and tested at various events that we know goes down a storm!
