Ruth Applin

Ruth is a stylish and accomplished Singer/Pianist, performing a wide variety of songs from Jazz classics and standards to Soul and Contemporary Pop. She has performed in many of the most prestigious venues across London and beyond, including The Ritz, The Lanesborough, The Waldorf Meridien, The Lansdowne Club, Wentworth Club, to name but a few. Playing with a sophistication that never fails to delight audiences, Ruth’s rich vocals and piano-playing are reminiscent of great singer/pianists like Nat King Cole, Nina Simone and Diana Krall. Ruth began her professional career after graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where she was able to work with notable musicians such as Pete Churchill, Lee Gibson, Tina May, Anita Wardell and Norma Winstone. Ruth is much in demand both as a solo performer and with her band. Her repertoire is extensive, drawing from the Great American Songbook and songs from Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald to Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Elton John, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and Adele.
